The ThorFire PF04 came packaged well but the end of the box was tore open. Maybe the customs guy had to check and make sure that it wasn’t one of those evil Wicked Lasers?

Contents of box:

Spare o-ring
Owners manual

The ThorFire PF04 is shorter than a sharpie pen and is about 1/8” shorter than my Hugsby XP-2.

When Zac from ThorFire asked me to review the ThorFire PF04, I figured it was going to be a just another penlight. Boy, was I wrong. The ThorFire PF04 is insanely bright for a penlight and it’s because of the Cree XP-G2 LED. Up until now, I’ve been very pleased with my Hugsby XP-2 which has a neutral white Cree XP-E LED. It’s kinda like that old saying, ignorance is bliss.

The XP-G2 in the ThorFire PF04 is a cool white tint. I’m guessing it’s around 5700K because it has a nice pure white tint that doesn’t have that cold blue spill that you see in a lot of flashlights.

The ThorFire PF04 has 3 power levels. Moonlight, high and medium in that order. That should make your batteries last longer by using a lower power. In moonlight mode, you can see to read something in total darkness and not destroy your night vision.

Last night I lined up the ThorFire PF04 next to my Hugsby XP-2 and shined them at a cinder block wall that is painted white. The ThorFire PF04 wiped the floor with the Hugsby XP-2.

I’m a bit of a flashlight geek  and pride my collection. This morning I took my wife’s car in for a oil change at a friends garage. As always, I had to bring my new toy to show off. My friend was impressed on how bright it was and hated the dim (overpriced) penlights that he’s bought from the Snap-On truck that always break after a few drops.

He borrowed the ThorFire PF04 for a few minutes to inspect a vehicle. When he was finished, he asked me where he could buy one because he wanted one. I didn’t take a picture of my friend using the ThorFire PF04 because I doubt he’d appreciate his fuzzy face posted all for the internet to see.

Conclusion:
The ThorFire PF04 has now replaced my Hugsby XP-2 as my favorite penlight. The ThorFire PF04 is a bright and good quality penlight that I would recommend to a friend. I didn’t get a chance to recommend it to my friend because he asked me where to buy one before I had a chance to recommend it to him.

I knew I saw your review earlier in the week for this pen light. Don’t know why it’s not getting any love but I like this as well. Thanks for the review and if I do get one it’s mode set up is something I would have to get used to.

Don’t forget to use the coupon code.

Thanks for the review. Its a little disappointing that they dont ship to Australia. I'm not sure the non ability to tailstand is much of a con.

Being it’s a new product, it’s not available everywhere yet. I hope you can get one because it’s a sweet pen light.

Maybe you should leave a comment on their Facebook page about wanting to buy one and how Amazon won’t ship down under.
