Shame on DinoDirect [was: "Ummm.... Anybody recognize this beamshot?"]

None of these places has 100% good information on the products they are selling. Lumen claims, runtime, currents, all seem to come from random number generators sometimes. That's true for DX and KD definitely, though Manafont seems to do pretty well and makes corrections if they have bad info. I ordered two items from Dino and got what I asked for along with better than average customer service. So while they have some dishonest practices, they are legitimate sellers, not scam artists like the people selling fake Trustfire flames. I wouldn't recommend them in general, but if you know what you're getting into, it can pay off for you. I could go to a more reputable dealer and get the same thing for more money, but then I'm only punishing myself.

I don't think DD is going to change if people continue to buy from them. Money talks. In general I think you can get deals that are just as good or better elsewhere.

DX is annoying and slow but they aren't outright dishonest IMO. There specs are off because their employees don't know anything about most of the items that they are selling. There is some logic to their specs. With DD it is obviously dishonest. DX does provide pictures that they take and actual reviews by actual customers.

DD is more blatantly dishonest than most of the rest.

That is wrong. Where is that picture of the dino dog.

DD should at least cite where the photo came from. DX lets users post pictures and the pictures have the user attached as "uploaded by".

Oh well it would do better for the rep of DD if they just added the ability for customers to submit photos of the products they sell instead of grabbing images off a search engine. Many times not even the right product

I love that picture

Because some people are easily bought. Something as insignificant as a couple extra bucks in their pocket is enough (in their mind) to justify overlooking the blatant dishonesty that happens right in front of them.

I believe in letting people know to be careful around a dealer like this. I also believe in getting a good deal. To me, that's one of the reasons for a forum like this: so that we can get good deals and not get hurt.

If we were really trying to make a statement and control bad behavior through our purchases, we wouldn't be buying from China in the first place.

If you Google "DinoDirect Scam" you'll see that it's been pretty well covered already.

They shipped an advertising flyer with my V10A selling lingerie, and my sister says that the pictures they used are from a range of large well recognised brands. She doesn't know of DD at all, but instantly there is recognition of this dishonest activity. Would be very easy to conclude that this is what is happening store wide, its just the way they work.

Im Very un-impressed

We are sincerely sorry for the inconvenience, there are too many products in our store, and we just made a mistake to put the picture at the wrong place. We will update it soon. And thanks for all your suggestions. we will continue to update to be better. If you found any other mistakes, please just let me know, we will update it timely. thanks

Wow. Disappointing. Very. OK, that did it. Time for Mr. Scruples to make an appearance and close my wallet.

Ummm...gorann...off the meds this evening?

If you want drama, please read the post above mine...

Clinton was impeached for lying under oath, something that people in general go to jail for here. What has the U.S. robbed from Croatia?

i think is super funny WHY ??

its really an actual beam shot !! its somewhat semi kinda legitimate ! which is worse a fake or "borrowed real"image ?

i am still up for the deals but doing legitimate business

the whole problem is people dont like bad ethics and bad customer service

( i had more but it got clipped somehow )

@ gorann

i think you comments above are very funny but the clinton thing ...

i see what your saying, people have to ask themselves what ELSE was going on during Monica and OJ time (forgot what else prolly MJ or Madonna lol ) , this dominated the news and was simply a side show. distracting people from important events , media slight of had...

If Dinodirect would take their own pictures rather than using unauthorized pictures taken by others there would be no problem. You know, actually take pictures yourself of your own products and let actual customers write their own review of products that they actually bought from you.

You don't need to apologize for our inconvenience. It's not inconvenient. It's just dishonest. That's all.

Good thing the Americans are making an attempt to hold these companies accountable because if we left it up to the Croatians I might receive a bikini instead of a flashlight

I kid, I kid. It's all good gorann :) But maybe have a little more respect for the Americans here.. many of whom have graciously given up their time to assist you (and the rest of us) in your quest for more lumens.

Did any of you poster in this board place an order from DD and NOT received it, OR received a fake item?

Well, i placed around 20 orders with ridiculous low prices (after coupon, dinopoints, giftcards, exploits...) from them and all came in good condition and appear to be well made.

So I'm not complaining. The descriptions is mostly wrong on their items anyways, what worst a pictures make?

I believe they are legit seller. At least they honor all my ridiculous orders and shipped, unlike focalprice didn't honor its online price and canceled my order.

Lighten up folks :)

Budget Light Forum , meet Dino Direct
