Review request for HKJ [Chargers]

Are you going to test the miller ml-102 v9.0?? (The one with battery level indicator with 5 green leds…)

Tx

My guess is that it is parallel to the normal charging terminals. I will check it.

Yes, I do have it on order.

Thanks mate. I already have 1 here and two more in order… Is a great update on the ml102… But I dont have equipment to test it.

However I stop charging once the leds show battery full and the battery ends at 4.15 volt… I think it stops charging…

Hi HKJ. Do you have experience with this charger? The physical quality is good, but I’d like to know if it would be safe for unprotected high drain cells… if so, it would be a great ‘gift’ charger.

I do not know about that charger, but generally I lack any confidence in that kind of cheap chargers and that is both for charging and safety.

Thanks…

Did you ever received the 2.2 revision of the OPUS? Did I miss it?

I remeber the 2.1V was provided directly by them. Would be nice if they changed the pwm charging algorythm, unlikely but…you never know.

No, the change from 2.1 to 2.2 was suppose to be minor.

Ok. thanks! So they are not software related….
My NITECORE i4 exploded last evening, so I’m looking for a better replacement and the usual suspects are always the same Lii-500 and C3100, I like haveing 2A but not the PWM, but also having a decent impedance meter is nice, without to have to use my hobby charger

nevermind, i will flip the coin and decide if the (pwm) OPUS is worth the price 50% more of the (linear) Lii-500

Thanks again.

HKJ, are you planning to review the SkyRC MC3000?

I do expect to review, the question is when. The testing will probably take about a month to do.

The Efest LUC BLU6 looks interesting though I don’t know if it warrants a review http://www.efestpower.com/product/674021945.html

It is one of the chargers I want to review, but nobody has given my one yet and I have not found a good shop to buy one either.

It’s on the .co.uk Amazon site IIRC.

Thank you, I have one on the way.

“Skilhunt M4D”: http://www.skilhunt.com/product-detail/m4d-lcd-digicharger/

Claims to be able to do 4x1000ma charging.

I have ordered one, but it looks like they spotted me and want to give me one instead.

^Sweet

Any business wanting to be taken seriously should be sending their batteries/chargers to you free for review.

This isn’t actually a charger but a cheap constant resistance discharge tester. Basically, you power it over microUSB, you attach resistors that determine the discharge current (depending on battery voltage, staying within the board’s 3amp limit and capable of dissipating the power sinked into them), connect a battery, optionally change the discharge end voltage and then it starts a discharge cycle. It’s in no way a proper CC testing unit but it’s so cheap that it could be an alternative for people without the money for a proper analyzing charger.
