i like the fenix beam 
but 1k lumen is a bit low for a MT-G2 
I like the flood on the Jax!
Pretty cool little light, i am very impressed by it. It is very floody but is deceivingly bright compared to the others, even though i didn’t feel that way when i was messing with it by itself.
The Price isn’t too bad either, i bought it straight from Fenix and they were running a special with 25% off with free shipping.
I have other Fenix lights and appreciate their quality. On their website, it didn’t clearly show that the zoom was progressive, i had the impression that it was only 2 settings, flood and narrow. It was
a pleasant surprise when i got the light and the zoom turned out to be progressive (variable).
It is my humble opinion that as a small package, it is the best zoomy in my collection. Highly recommended!

does it get hot quickly on high or do you think thereis room for “improvements“ ?
I just Did a quick test, it doesn’t get hot at all… the zeusray got very hot to the touch while the Fenix was much cooler after a 20 min run.

Is that a Fresnel-like combination of total internal reflection and a converging lens, like an LED Lenser?
my eyes must be deceiving me. The fenix looks like it has the brightest spot!
It has the biggest spot and probably puts out the most light while focused. But it doesn’t mean it’s most intensive and more throwy.
I have a question to ontheR6 - how’s beam quality in medium focus?
Some of the Lensers and Coasts do have problems with the beam at medium focus.
I will be interested for myself only if they appear at a much lower price; like the Lensers do, probably stock intended for more price sensitive markets and old models. What is interesting is that another company is using lighthouse-like optics.
I am not enthusiastic about the appearance of any of those for lights.
