Convoy L2...Guess who's back???

Instead of unnecessary heavy metal walled flashlights, they should go thinner add an extra 18650 (same weight, nearly same size) ,doubling the runtime and brightness. Nearly tripling if upgrading to buck driver.

Ironically, it may be the short run 123 tiny lights that need armour, not the regular use lights. Most people that need an abuse lights, don’t need 8 to 20 hours. And visa versa. My strategy since 2005 has been fragile, super bright 10 hour runtime, using home made, light weight, plastic, glued together beast, everyday-sinceyoucant buy these. If it rains, or I decide to scale a cliff, I put them in a book bag, or box. Then, I throw on a normally useless, shorter run, heavier made light.

Thanks for insights!
I don’t think their companies care much about people, I was thinking about government - comunists could as well cancel old tradition like they did in USSR, so some little venting space is left for overworked people?

You are welcomed.

Yes their companies (again in general) don’t really care about the people, but as for the government and communist issues in the past I am not quite sure about that since I am not from China anyway. I did not really study the history of China, but I personally think that both of the Chinese New Year and Mooncake Festival are so deeply rooted in Chinese culture for probably thousands of year, so I don’t think even the communist would want to cancel these festivals, after all they are Chinese too?

Can we keep it on topic please. 0:)

Yep me again asking for a update  . (I really have to work on my patience…)

I could ask simon myself but I rather have one person asking him than 10.

Okay let me throw a few quick response comments out there and then I agree that we should get back on topic.

As far as working on December 24th and 25th, Christmas is a Christian holiday. Christianity is illegal in China.

My comment about wishing we has as many holidays was just a simple thoughtless comment. I did not at all mean to imply that I was envious of people in China where some tall business buildings have to build “suicide nets” because of the high frequency of workers that try to end it all by jumping from the highest floor they can get to. That speaks volumes about the working conditions.

My appologies for opening this door. While I appreciate the discussion it probably doesn’t belong in this thread.

Finally, back on topic. 0:) the last I heard from Simon the light is done but there were a few details to work out with the gift box. Apparently he plans to package this one nicely. I just sent him an email asking for an update. It may be 12 hours or so before I get a response but as soon I have it I will update you all here.

Really looking forward to this light - high expectations!

Really? :open_mouth: High expectations? :open_mouth: Compared to that list of modded lights you own? Amazing!

HAHAHA

I’m allways looking forward to new lights, especially throwers.

What can I say? I pride myself in being a true flash-o-holic

Simon should let KawiBoy1428 and I design the Convoy L2 replacement. We’ll design a Convoy L2 replacement that will make the Lumintop SD75 its bitch.

Go for it! I’ll be sure to buy one!

And Jubledum can start another forum, EELF!! Extremely Expensive Light Forum!

Elderly Lanterns Forum (Mag-Lite and SureFire exclusive) ?
Extreme Lumens Forum?
Evil Lumens Forum?

Something weird this way comes…

Aww damn I miss Dio …. :( :(

For some strange reason, that statue makes me think of this.

I hope its good… At $30 the Yezl Y3 is extremely strong competition. The L2 should perform better to make the price worth it… I might have missed this - do we know the size of the reflector? Mmm, I’m expecting around 300k lux on a XP-L Hi / XM-L for it to be worth that price. Anyway, looking forward to see the first reviews!

Yeah cool, now how do you go about using PayPal? :~

I hope Simon offers it as a host…
