Unusual MCE Zoomable

I don't think I've seen an MCE Zoomable before but here's one. The four focused sections look so weird.

I am a little confused by the description it says MCE and shows the 4 section emitter, but then it says Q5 an MCE bin should be designated with a letter H,J,K,M or N not Q5.

If it really is an 18650 MCE zoomie I bet it would make an awesome bike light.

That confused me too but the beamshots are certainly from a MCE zoom.

You have to apply the same rules you would at DX. Throw out what doesn't fit in or make sense in the description. In this case it would be the Q5 :) The emitter picture and 500 lumens rating fit with MC-E and Q5 doesn't so throw that out.

If would be nice one day to have sellers who actually understand what they are selling.

Would the MCE make a great chip for zoomies? The reason I ask is that I always get told that the best leds for that application is the XP-G because of wieving angle / spatial distribution. But there doesnt seem to be so big a difference between the graphs (to me anyway)

Actually an XR-E is the best LED for use with a 'zoomable lense' due to the narrower viewing angle (though technically an XR-C would be slightly better). MC-E seems a weird choice due to it's 4 die structure. More of a novelty item than anything I think..

I think a MC-E is basically 4 XR-E's. However the 4 emitter configuration is odd for an aspheric I would agree.

Does anyone have this or similar MC-E zoomie? I'm looking to add another to the collection. Also, how does this one differ from the P7, performance-wise?
