As you’ve probably seen already, yes it is for sale now on Simon’s store. I’ll add all this and more information to the OP as soon as I have a chance. Not sure where shrick got a price of $24.99 though. This bad boy is pricier at $41.75. I did ask Simon if he will do a BLF discount code for this one so unless you have to have it right now it might be worth waiting a day or so. Last time I didn’t have the information about the discount for the blue S2+ for almost a week so a few people were annoyed that they found out after already purchasing. I’m not promising a discount but it’s quite possible. He said because of the weight the shipping cost is killing him on this one. Yes, it will be offered as a host very soon and before everyone gets all bummed out remember Simon said this is just the first revival of the L2 and he plans to make an updated version taking into account our requests for design changes. There are some good points to even this first release. The styling is pretty awesome IMHO. He’s using a better than standard driver (LD25) which I’m not familiar with but he says is completely current controlled with no PWM noise and is easy to tune the current. If you look at the LD25 driver alone on Simon’s store he has a link to a video showing how to adjust the current. The modes are a little better than standard. The stock setup is low-med-high with a hidden strobe accessed by a quick double tap on the switch button. I should have one on the way so I’ll report back as soon as I have a chance to test it out. Even this first rendition has the potential to be one heck of a thrower with a few tweaks.

Comparing the dimensions to my convoy L5 (also 26650 light) the handle is a couple mm thicker.
The smallest part of the handle of the L5 is 31mm and the thickest part is 32.2mm and according to his info the handle on this new L2 is 35mm. So not only the head is bringing the weight up.
And remember: more weight = more aluminium = capable of taking more heat = more amps to LED = more happiness :bigsmile: .

Also, at the moment I’m planning to build 2 L2’s. One with an XP-L HI. And one with a MTG-2/XHP-50/70, cant decide which one yet.

Yep me too Keith! I would rather have a single tube 2X26650 rather than an extension, for Strength! That’s what sets the Jax X6 apart from the rest, it feels REAL GOOD in the hand, and you can rely on it completely if need be, if you catch my drift!!!

Simon is busy tonight responding to probably hundreds of messages but I have several things to report.
1. Simon is offering a 15% discount on the L2 to all BLF members. I asked him if he could make an active code available but no word on that yet. For now if you want to buy one just add BLF 15% discount in your comments on the order and wait for him to adjust the price.
2. The host price will be $35.12 and the 15% discount will work on the host too.
3. Simon reassured me that the next version will have many improvements suggested by BLF members.
Guess we’ll just have to wait then! But the new L2 looks better with an extra tube…

Honestly if he just added an extension tube and maybe an OP reflector to the host and kept everything else the same, he’d snag a whole bunch more buyers. That heavy heatsink is begging for an XHP

I’m an IT guy so I’m no stranger to the “no I would never do that” excuse but I can tell you for certain that I have not searched for such things and I saw the ads too a few times. If I’m not mistaken it may have only been in the mobile browser on my phone but I don’t remember the exact details. The only thing I’ve ever searched for on Ali is flashlights. It’s not like it was porn but I certainly wouldn’t want my young children seen that.
