Gearbest: Lots of orders missing, looking for advice

No, that has always been the case. you cannot remove tracking unless you go direct through PayPal. Don’t worry its not you.

Marc.

You are right, but is that because gearbest are cheap or that our domestic sellers are overcharging? Probably somewhere in between I would say.

When I add tracking I always get a real tracking number which I can track from my local po website online, and a picture of package.

Yeah, rrright, like, this was not a shameless plug :D!

your mind is free to believe whatever you like…

Well, that didnt seem like, umm, accidental post of yours :D!

There are rules and those should be abided by every single one of affiliates out there and that post of yours seemed like an attempt to sway people towards yours.

Because, basically, you ARE perceived as commercial sellers little helpers here on BLF.

As I said, if we keep it civilised and within the limits of rules, I have no problems with any of affiliate posting.

you have to judge yourself if you believe me to be interested in the users experiences.

i do not post a lot questions i really do want to know or things i have to contribute to the community because i am afraid to be falsely accused again and again…

if you like we can PM if you need more info about me and my motivation.

keep this thread clean ;=

Well, obviously this thread is about Gearbest shipping and order fullfilment issues and you, being Banggood affiliate, basically bound by rules come here and ask this sneaky question of wether members here have the same experience with other Chinese sellers as well does look fishy, nothing personal.

Banggood themselves might have come to this place and posted exact same question and to me it wouldnt be any much different.

For those, like myself, who thought Paypal would protect them when orders aren’t received, time to reconsider. I have two knife orders placed in August at GearBest that never arrived. These were not my first GB orders, and subsequent orders have been received.

After waiting 35 business days I contacted Gearbest and got the canned responses others have described. As 60 days approached I started Paypal claims. On the first one, GearBest sent PP the order’s Registration Number and claimed it was a tracking number. They had done that with me, first claiming it was a tracking number, then saying it couldn’t be used for tracking. They also sent me an email asking that I drop the dispute.

Yesterday I received an email from PP with the subject “We decided Case ID #PP-xxx-xxx-xxx-458 in your favor” (numbers changed to x’s by me). There was no body to the email, so I went to the Resolution Center and found “After careful consideration, we’re unable to decide this claim in your favor at this time” and the case was closed. What?!

All I could do was request a review of their resolution by reopening the case. But… non-receipt of goods was not offered as a reason to reopen. I had to use something else — I chose “Quantity Received Not Correct ” (which was technically correct — I received zero items). I mentioned the mysterious email and questioned how, after 10 years and over $40,000 of PP purchases with only one other dispute (also in 2015) they could fail to decide a straightforward $10 item-not-received case in my favor.

Today the case says I chose “Item Not As Described”. Also, the other dispute I had earlier in 2015 (the seller vanished, PP found in my favor) no longer appears. Instead of the 180 day claim history my account had yesterday, today there is only a 15 day claim history. PP says it may take 30 days to resolve the case.

YMMV, but unless PP provides a clear explanation I will only use them in the future if there is no other option. It appears the Buyer’s Protection is gone.

EDIT 10/28/15 - I called Paypal and they closed both claims/disputes in my favor. The rep I spoke with was very competent and helpful. Apparently something got bollixed on their end with the first claim, but after resolving the second one she reopened the first and resolved it properly. I am completely satisfied with their resolution of the claims.

BTW, when I called and got through the mechanical answering protocol to a live agent (not too many steps), I got the “Call volume is high, wait time is long, we’re-sorry-you’re-very-important-to-us” message. Surprisingly. wait time after that msg was only about 2 minutes. YMMV.

Hmm, thanks for sharing this!

I have 2 disputes with PP open and those await sellers response till 30.october, if they dont side with me and I lose money, or any other Paypal case where goods are not received, I will be buying with credit card only and be much safer.

I asked GB again if they are aware of their massive shipment problem and what they plan to about it. Also I agreed on their promised refund (for one of the orders only!). No answer to the ticket since then.

Why again is Gearbest not banned on BLF?

They are not banned because they are not scamming us. They may be having shipping problems but will sort it out if you contact them.

My three missing orders have been reshipped with tracking numbers via Swedish post. So although it may be inconvenient I cannot complain, the service they have given me has been good.

Marc

Since I posted a few days ago that I was not satisfied with PayPal’s handling of my non-delivery claims against GearBest, I just edited my post as follows to reflect my satisfaction with their response:

EDIT 10/28/15 - I called Paypal and they closed both claims/disputes in my favor. The rep I spoke with was very competent and helpful. BTW, when I called and got through the mechanical answering protocol to a live agent (not too many steps), I got the “Call volume is high, wait time is long, we’re-sorry-you’re-very-important-to-us” message. Happily, wait time after that msg was only about 2 minutes. YMMV.

Further note: To date GearBest has still done nothing to resolve the matters satisfactorily. They are still telling me to go to the post office (been there, done that), ask all my neighbors if they stole my mail, and most of all, WAIT. 68 days and counting — the time for waiting has passed. Oh, and it helped PayPal to settle the claims when they checked the tracking numbers GB sent them for both orders — the same BS “tracking numbers” GB sent to me.

After a couple of months, they will reship the order after another week or more of delaying and some arguing.

The massive numbers of these non delivered orders that we pay for months in advance, and which we all know that many of them probably go forever unfilled because people forget that they made an order, or don’t complain about it not showing up, or give up on the exhausting and exasperating arguing to get the re-sending done, leads one to question whether this is a deliberate business model.

I notice that none of the old orders later show up, which seems like would happen occasionally, only the re shipped version of the order arrives, and it arrives within a normal time frame, which makes you wonder why they can’t do that the first time.

Is this company really just casually accepting all these massive losses which appear to be 20 or 30% of their shipments and which is destroying their customer relations? They seem awfully casual about being the only business known, that is having such a huge percentage of their shipments sidetracked somewhere, by what would have to be theft, since it is happening on such a large scale.

It’s almost like a business plan.

Heres hoping that they will ignore their non-valid tracking numbers in my claims as well :D!

Ordered July, 28th, “shipped” August, 4th, still not arrived…
Ordered August, 26th, “shipped” September, 2nd, still not arrived…

Yesterday ordered three BLF-384…

I can not say i’m very happy now. :frowning:

Yeah, the BLF 348 group buy is my only GearBest order in the last few months. I seriously considered not buying as the buy was through them, but those are nice lights. If it comes through quickly (ordered, but not shipped yet) with no issues, I may consider again in the future stuff like group buys, but not individual orders. If I want stress, I will go to the DMV for bad service, delays, etc…

Some interesting points. That's a lot of merchandise to simply vanish.

One thing I noticed... Others mention photos of their packages under order history, but the only GB order of mine with such a photo is one placed after my missing order. Probably not significant, but I wonder if they started doing that due to a high number of lost/stolen/missing packages.

every single order that was allegedly “shipped out” has a photograph on a digital scale, so they are also capturing the weight on their end (but not visible to me).
all the shipments also have a “number” which typically starts with the logistics partner, ie CN, SP, SE, … however they are not traceable if the tracking feature wasn’t selected during the checkout process (at least for me).

please note that this picture is only visible for me on the GB website, not the mobile app.

also, all the packages look different, with different labels on them.

maybe this is like an assembly line where someone stands at the end of the line and opens every package? LOL. I am just kidding… I am sure they went out but disappeared somewhere else… hmm…

I would like to know the story from Gearbest's side.

It could be something they have no control over.. or maybe another major company tries to destroy them?

Could it be possible that the local shipping guys steal packages?

Do they wait for bulk shipments?

Did they send it by boat instead of plane?

Are there thieves among their own employees?
