Flashaholics Anonymous: The Flashlight Purchase Refusal Kudos Thread

I am not sure if buying stuff and waiting until it arrives counts for “being on the wagon”…

I am pretty sure that is just addiction with a time lag (waiting for the hit).

I say start you counting when the last light arrives and then see how long you go. I wish you more success then I have had recently.

humm Im thinking about the guy from Breaking Bad. TK your the guy in the back cooking up the Killer Pharmaceutical Grade stuff at home.

I mean this is the Stuff that BIG PHAMRA does not have yet!!!

Addict - nah.
Enabler - Sort of like calling Che` a communist.
Dealer - nothing so crass.
Evil Chemist - now that is getting closer

I think you should start a company called “Krokodil Coding” !

Yeah, it’s all her fault. Now way would I be doing this but for the new UI. Except for the AAA GB of course, mumble mumble.

Only got into the GroupBuy BLF 348 coz I never in my life owned a Nichia219...honest...really....you know it's the TRUTH ! So never got off the Wagon....just reached out when going by Nichia Tree...

Oh, please. You are easily capable of building a better one yourself. You didn’t need to join a group buy. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Maybe, but it would take me 2 years to make 5 of them.

It does if you order from Gearbest!

Nothing since the June 25th post made above, they never did send me a postage paid box to send back the damaged because of bad design though, so much for the lifetime warranty

Warranties cover defects in materials and workmanship in your example, not bad design or shoddy materials of the whole production.

Most recalls seem to be related to poor materials or bad design.

Does this help?

Product Recall vs. Product Warranty Insurance product recall insurance Know The Difference

The company says my experience should not happen and said they would send a return postage paid box.
I know from being a flashaholic its bad design, but they say its defective.

In the end i have an expensive unreliable flashlight from an “upscale” company that does not stand behind their lifetime warranty.

Oh and BTW its been three weeks since I purchased (or received) may last lumens fix.

(I did finish three “existing” mods though).

four more to go.

With my just getting billed for the last GB i was in, and Christmas coming, and me needing some home-stuff I am hopping on the wagon  Let’s see how long I can hang on!

Honestly, there’s no lights I need on the GB horizon, can’t justify the Thrunite Ti that was tempting me, they’ve sold out on the V5 “buckle”, I have some light projects to do with what I already have on hand (does that count?), and many other projects/chores waiting I think I can go at least 2 months, maybe 3, without another purchase. Gonna try.

Today I saw a post about “look to your left… the first thing you see is what you would hoard as a dragon”. But I don’t think I need to be a dragon for this one. What I saw was a pile of bare-metal lights, and it made me realize I now have 16 different models:

  1. Reylight BLF Ti
  2. Sinner Cypreus
  3. CNQG Brass 18650
  4. CNQG Brass AA
  5. Olight S10 Ti w/ MELD
  6. Convoy S7
  7. bare BLF A6
  8. BLF X6v2 SS/Cu
  9. BLF X5 Cu
  10. BLF-348
  11. DQG Tiny AAA IV
  12. Cooyoo Quantum SS
  13. DQG Fairy
  14. stripped Zebralight SC52
  15. Thrunite T10T
  16. EagleTac D25A Ti

… and #17 on its way soon, I think, because someone decided it’d be a good holiday gift.

5 different metals, 6 different categories of button/twisty, 7 different battery types, 11 different families of emitter, 13 different UIs.

I might have a problem.

lol, good insight! By my measure, I kind of fell off the wagon because I recently bought something… for a friend… but only didn’t also get one for myself because of limited stock. :8)

By your measure, I have yet to start counting, which gives me a fresh start when I get some packages soon!

Good job! Hang in there!!!

It’s “18sixfifty”s fault. He offered a well-modded C8 with 2 good cells for $20 with free shipping and I just couldn’t resist. Going for a restart to try again.

I’m really proud of myself for resisting the 47 Copper P1 deal. First time I’ve been able to resist Copper. :crown:

I didn’t buy any of the wonderfull BLF X5/X6 Astrolux S2/S3 neither aluminum or copper/steel. I’m proud of myself
I did, however, build my first triple S2+ with Nichia 219C and BLF A6 driver. I’m also proud of that…
Guess I’m still a flashaolic after all

Hey, I got an ad in the mail today for something which might help if you’re trying to quit.
