Welcome… you’re our newest affixilate

I am still surprised that the others that have ordered this have not chimed in… I know it is not every ones cup of tea, but it would be nice to hear of others opinions.

Just used on on the Xtar H2 16340/CR123 headlight.

its a very narrow (especially for a head light) stock the CW emitter was not bad but I dropped in a 219C and then added the DC-Fix.

now, these very reasonably priced lights, are just right for CQL (Close Quarters Living) not a throwing light anymore but a small head lamp was never really throwy to start with.

Also soldering in there 219C emitters was about as small as I want to solder.

I got a letter in the mail a couple of days ago, upon opening it, I found several sheets of what appeared to be paper. After several minutes of head scratching, some pondering, and a little contemplation, I realized it was the famous DC-Fix.

Well now, I have a perfect candidate for the famous DC-Fix, an irritatingly spotty, and post dedoming ringy headlamp, containing one particularly filthy latticebright LED.

I’d love to grab a couple. Will pm when I get back to a computer.

Thanks for the beamshots Lord Niksidor I’m guessing there is even less hotspot than the camera is showing . i’ve diffused a jacob A60 just for fun but never done a Lattice bright … thats a classic

Quite true, to the eye the hotspot is less discernable, but I suspect given the still fairly impressive throw that the intensity in the hotspot shown on the camera is a fair bit higher than the rest of the spill, even out at 175 degrees there is usable light, very awesome. Also a fairly noticeable color temperature shift, maybe 7500k down to 6500k, something I'm certainly not complaining about. That LB LED is gone as soon as my fasttech order arrives

Might as well de-dome it and see if you win the tint lottery … whats the worst thing that could happen ? it’s not like you’ll ever want to put it in anything else anyway

I need some of this on my BLF A6 Special Edition flashlights. If that works as expected, I might try some on my Nitecore P36. Pretty soon, I'll be putting it on everything.

Does it work on reading glasses?

My thoughts exactly, Hot de-domed last night with minimal tint shift. I don't know how good it would be for reading, but it would be awesome for driving. Increase peripheral vision, very safe, soon everyone will be doing it.

Received mine. Thanks a lot! It works great. Here the result of applying it to Xtar H3 (ignore the tint, white balance was completely off, it’s actually whiter with DC-FIX).
Before/After:

It looks dimmer because the spill is a lot wider now. There is a smooth transition from hotspot to spill to darkness.
Now I might actually keep the head lamp. It fixes both too tight and too bright beam. Have to wait for darkness to test it futher.

That is about what it did to my Xtar H2 light. I have no idea why they have such tight hotspots, but the DC Fix is the ticket….

Now if you graft in a Nichia 219C, the tint will be gorgeous…

Got mine thanks. Now to get time to use it.

Now, why would you do that :)???

I never used dc fix on a jacob a60 …everything i’ve had prior to dc fix was non stick /no adhesive so the diffuser film on the jacob A-60 lasted about 3 minutes …I did it just to see if it was possible to make a laser tight beam floody  other lights i’ve tried diffuser film on/or still have film on them are >>2 D maglite clone ultrafire mcu-c88 ,blf x6 eagle eye, tank 566,convoy s2 ,s2+,streamlight tasklight2L, 12-5mm uv light modded with a p-60 drop-in no lens so i used diffuser film to protect the reflector / emitter of the drop in . de-domed Supfire s5, O-pen clone ,again no lens so the diffuser film protects the emitter .2nd tank 566 nichia 219a, blf aay-4e xpg-2, tank 701ssc,. hugsby xp-2 , Sunwayman V20cy, BLF A6, nitefighter L1A headlamp … Some of these lights had beams so poor spreading butter on the lens would be an improvement …I’ve got some antique mods and some lantern mods that will need serious diffusin since the reflectors are made for incan light.

Hi Boaz,

Replaced old film on an SD-10 NW and got the same percentage increase, 75%, so it is very consistent in its improvement.

Love this stuff.

Very good also at mixing the colour variations in a beam, but probably only really visible on a White Wall!

Thanks once again for getting this in Bulk for us.

Splott-Light

PayPal sent, looking forward to seeing what it’s like.

Anyone know if it blocks UV?

Some before and after pictures…

Great product!
