Panasonic 26650A (could be fakes as some members have pointed out)

by my calculations a “b” 26650 with the same tech should be 6800mah.
would mainly be a longer winding.
this thread needs moved to the batteries forum….

I’ll call BS on these too. A quick search seems to indicate that these are more chinese fakes among the many others that have been popping up online. All I could find is a datasheet for the old GCR2660A (2008). It would also be unlike pany to label these without a prefix. Lots of reputable resellers are suddenly carrying these (which means absolutely nothing since they also sell fakes). Some are listed under NCR26650A, which also does not exist in Panasonics corp lithum cell database or anywhere else that I could find. If someones google-foo can find a data sheet from a panasonic corp source, please post a link. Otherwise, Id avoid these until we know more about them from a reputable source.

So far, the ONLY chinese manufactured lithium cell that I can recommend of any size is the GENUINE Trustfire TF32650, which delivers the highest capacity of any cell its size or smaller (unprotected version provides about 6700 mAh) and maintains these levels after several discharge cycles. I have 4 that are 2 years old and still going strong after several discharge cycles.

The kingkongs are good too.as with everything fakes abound.get then from a reputable source.

These are a good batteries

Even if they are fake panas, isn’t still 5500mha at 1A pretty good for an 26650 cell?

I hope HKJ take a lot at them to see what they can really do.

so this lot is ok.
what about the next?
a little digging can probably uncover the source of the wrappers.
i can see these being yet another whateverfire.

Isn’t most 26650 cells the equivalent to “whateverfire”, as far as i know the highest capacity cells are all Chinese made cells so whats the difference as long as they test decent.

Sure if i could pick a high capacity samsung, lg, pana 26650 cell i would, for example a 26650 cell with the chemistry of the 30Q or the GA would be more than great, but they don’t exist :frowning:

About the source of the rewrappers for this cell, i am guessing the same source that soshine use for there protected 26650 5500mha cells, they test similar on the opus in capacity.

Wow. Now I finally know what to buy with with some of the $3.00 bills I have. 0:)

why roll the dice when you can get known good ones at mountain?
yes there are few japanese 26650.sony(extinct)and panasonic.
the panasonics are great high rate cells.
but low in capacity.
if these fake panasonics are good then why not put your name on them and benefit from brand recognition?

If fake batteries then assume fake test.

i dont doubt the o.p test results.
but it remains to be seen how these hold up cycle life and calendar life wise.
being above the claimed capacity is good though.
test these a few cycles and post results.

Hmm, are you saying that freeme in the OP did a fake test? Or that HKJ would fake a test of them? Why…….

FYI: I do not own that battery and that test results are not done by me. Peace out.

If these are the same base cell as the Soshine, they should performed even better than those because of the lack of the protection circuit that the Sochine has.

Ok, didn’t notice that. Then of course there are the possibility of a fake test. But is this even known to occur on ali? That seller deliberately fake pictures with an analyzing charger?

I mean they would so easily be found out and get cases against them.
They would only provide evidence against themselves by doing that, seems like a strange way to fake stuff. If they want to fake cells capacity why not sell the normal crap ultrafire that everyone else sells without any capacity information, so they can at least claim ignorance when they get cases against them for shoddy products.

capacity at 1a wont be noticeably affected by protection.

If fake batteries are being re-wrapped then why would an unethical theft stop and think “Well I’ll just put fake wrappers on but a fake test that’s just too dishonest.” The goal of a thief is to get your money. His limits are your level of gullibility and his level of resourcefulness. I believe that the test picture is real but the results are not, I can piggy back a second battery to the first to up the reading. Or a dead cell piggy backed with a power supply and stopped at the right time to get those two batteries so close to each other to seem higher capacity and quality.

Yes, “The goal of a thief is to get your money” but you do know that aliexpress has escrow right? And if they fake capacity and provide such accurate prof of there dishonesty they would give away free cells to anyone with a analyzing charger. + lose there ali store for there troubles, and it is not easy to open a new store if you have lost it by faking items on ali.

That is why i asked if this behavior is even known to happen at all, to fake an discharged capacity picture on ali or lets just widen the scope to ebay also, has this even happen at all?

Yeah i know that is why i was interested in a proper HKJ test, because the Soshine test very similar at 1A on the opus but lower in HKJ’s test + on higher amp the protection limits performance. If i remember it cuts already at 7A and i would like to find that base cell but without the protection.
