xg-v3 $38 on DX deal

I'll probably try modding it with these when I receive mine (after writing a review that is :)).

Shouldn't be that difficult.. Let's see.

Can't wait for your review. Maybe a small diy for led swap?

BTW: The don't ruin the look, because they seem to be white/clear as long as they are not lit (see this photo). And you have to lit them separately, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Great idea! I just ordered a pack of those LEDS a couple minutes ago. I will carefully disassemble the torch to see if I can mod it and if I can I won’t have to wait another month for the LEDs to come in to do it.

Ok, I gave in. I just use my Feb, 12 flashlight's budget to buy the light. I am #10.

im just waiting for my paycheck to DD... deal better not end before that

does anyone have this? specs say 1 x 18650, but voltage in says 2.8 to 8.4v. id prefer running 2 rcr123a in it, but id be afraid to blow it myself

anyone know for sure?

Sold out after 15 pcs.

Good, they might get round to posting them out now.

What a shameful rip-off of a beautiful custom light and they screwed the design in the process. I wouldn't own one if they were giving them away. I think we need to draw the line somewhere when it comes to ripping off small run custom designs.

I Disagree. Cloning a custom light like this will never devalue the real thing among collectors. The clones give people the chance to own a light they never could afford or would never spend the money on in the first place. It doesn’t effect the originals market but opens up to a whole different market that would never own the original. If anything it will make the public more aware of the original and make the real thing even more desirable and collectable.

Personally I'm still waiting for a clone of the Spy007 to become available.

theres a lazer too, with 12 "barrels" around it, but the host is down

@johnny

thats a hot torch, that and a high quality lighter with same styling would make a great set

theres the laser

Oh my! I had no idea this light was popular among the budget folk. I always assumed it was thought of as gimmicky and awkward. When I saw this thread I realized I couldn't be further from the truth! :)

Got the email from DX telling me it's shipped. Too bad it's China post and not HK post. It'll take a good 3 weeks to get here instead of 9 days.

Got mine today. Bigger than I imagined, and quite heavy. Very well put together.

The coloured leds are a bit pointless, but together with the overall look of the light, it makes it very eye catching. They would actually be usefull if they were all white.

The UI is fairly simple once you work it out, the ramping works well and can be set very low.

I'll EDC it for a while, until I get tired of people asking what the hell it is.

Overall, I like it. Don't regret buying it at all.

That is great news! I hope mine shows soon. I have the white replacement LEDs waiting to install. Have you made any attempt to see how it disassembles?

Hey, Pantaloonie... out of curiosity, when was originally shipped?

I got a despatch note on the 2nd, so 10 days in transit.

Looks like to disassemble, you'll be needing some small allen keys, not the normal ones but the star shaped security type. You'll see what I mean when you get yours.

You are right Pantaloonie. The keys are called "Torx" and the needed size is smaller than T10, which happens to be my smallest Torx key. :(

Have to go to local HW shop on Monday..
