All sold out: ReyLight Custom,Lumintop Tool AAA Copper. (Driver available)

I just joined yesterday and I’m already in for 2 GB’s. Been lurking around for awhile and these copper lights sent me on over the edge. Anyway you guys are awesome and I’ve learned so much cool stuff on here. Thanks!

Put me in for 1 of whatever gets produced. I’ll have my fingers crossed for a 219C hotrod!

I’m interested.

Thanks,
Mike

If this GB is still in the design/suggestion phase, I’d suggest a flat metal clicky boot. If flat, the light can tailstand even with the button sticking out the rear. The rubber boots always look a bit out of place on these copper lights.

What about a pale pink illuminated rubber dome? I think pinks go pretty nice with copper torches, as in this X5 GB:

Wow I am for this - if that very pale pink is indeed glow in the dark - and it seems like that is the “illuminated” aspect that shows up in the bottom photo indicates this (please correct me if this is not the case). It looks really fine with the copper… reminds me of a pencil eraser color. I like how the pale pink almost disappears into the color of the copper light during daylight.
Either that, or another glow in the dark button — the kind of GITD rubber that looks almost white in regular daylight (the Eagletac clickys I think have this) rather than the GITD that is more vibrant green in regular daylight.

Its not GITD, its actually illuminated from within with two tiny LEDs. See this thread for more info:

Also, it should be noted that the final lights aren’t expected to ship with pink boots. These photos are of prototype lights. The final version that ships should be white. But switch boots are easy to swap, so you can have pink if you want it.

Getting off topic guys. The X5/X6 group buy are completely different lights to this.

All due respect, we’re not really off-topic here since the discussion is about whether we’d like to see this lighted tailcap feature from the X6/X5 project get integrated into this light as well. In order to make that decision folks have to understand what they’re asking for, so the details of how that feature works should be understood by all.

Of course there’s no reason this project couldn’t deviate from what the X6/X5 team is doing. If this project’s organizers want a powered, lighted tailcap with a pink boot, then so be it. But we should discuss that, I’d think, or risk having a lot of interested folks jumping ship.

I assume you understand how small this light actually is and how the switch looks/functions???

Ah, then what you meant was that you had some very relevant information to add to this on-topic conversation!

I didn’t know how small that switch was. Adding a lighted feature like the X6/X5 would be very tricky because of the very limited clearances in this smaller light. That’s good to know, thanks.

I should have probably made it more clear in my first post.

This light is just too small to make something like a lighted tailcap feasible. I know Rey isn’t having the easiest time organising the light with just an emitter swap and firmware tweak so the more requests that are made the less likely this group buy is to go ahead in my opinion.

Thanks much for the clarification regarding the boot color/issues - all is OK like it is with the black one (reckon I simply prefer GITD clicky boots which is why I mentioned it) - whatever we need to do (or not do) to make it happen is fine by me! the important stuff is the Nichia, the mode sequence and lumen levels.

Imo this light is just right the way it is. I don’t care that it doesn’t tail stand. I don’t think it should have to cause it’s diameter is so small it wouldn’t be very stable anyway. It’s to small for a lighted switch.

A 219C on DTP copper with a hot driver and it’s the best AAA on the planet imo.

The only upgrade that I believe would be worthwhile (in addition to the above-mentioned) is to make the clip out of .045” titanium.

Any date for production? Guess as to when lights will actually ship? Thanks.

Im still very interested in the N219 version of this light.
To tide me over, as a Copper Fan, I went ahead and ordered the stock XP-G2 version, pending arrival, from here… hope its ok to share a link

It's been 11 days since Rey posted here. In post #168 he said it would take 15-30 days for the copper - we're all in wait mode... I doubt much, if any, changes can be made.

Yikes, that FSTOP Lights shop has some extremely high prices...

I didn’t look until you said something, but you’re right. I’m seeing anywhere from ~150% to ~300% of the original retail prices. More expensive than what I’ve seen at brick-and-mortar stores like REI. They carry some nice items, but I’d generally buy most things from Illumn.com instead.

Anyway, sorry, off-topic.

Also, edit: The prices there are in SGD, not USD. $1 USD is currently about $1.42 SGD, which explains most of the price difference.

A lighted tail for this little 1xAAA light doesn’t seem at all feasible. First, there’s the matter of physically fitting the extra parts into a tiny space… Then there’s the matter of how quickly a AAA cell would drain… And the change would probably either require li-ion cells or an extra voltage boost circuit… And it sounds like the process is already past the point where changes can be made.

(listed prices are not US dollars)
(Fwiw, neither of the other two sites mentioned have the copper tool, if I’m mistaken please pm me the links.)

True, our group buy is a Much better deal, costs $12 US less at the 200 unit price of US$30 And will get free upgrade to N219. What’s not to love? Looking forward to it!

Stick to the plan. the more changes, the less likely the GB happens. Just 219B and custom modes, maybe BLF logo too.

I did not forget this thread. Been working on the BLF Ti complete lights, and Lumintop is busy with some other orders. The last 2 months of every year is always busy for us.

I'm confident that this could be done before I went back for Chinese New Year holiday.

Receive lights before Christmas? small chance.

Thanks for the update Rey! I’ll wait.
