Sold out! - GBGB: BLF-348 - Classy and Small 1xAAA Stainless Steel light, with Nichia NVSW219B-V1 R9050

.I also thought of that.I think I’ll go first
Done

I create and use a throwaway email ID to log into each online vendor (so I can cancel it if it starts being spammed)

I noticed my order for these lights didn’t show up — and when I checked I found I also have an account login there using my PayPal email address as the login name.
Who knew?

So I had to try logging in to that (without knowing a password, of course)
Request a password reset, changed whatever password they had on it.
Then log in
and lo, there’s my order, plus two other orders I made for special price items, with tracking.

Very peculiar. I have no idea if it’s a security problem that they have multiple accounts for me.

So I changed my PayPal to a different email.
Tried another order.

Now they’re spamming that new email urging me to create a new buyer account so I can use more “points”

Weird.

Maybe this is part of the push to get people to order with their smartphones?

Is there any info on the bin of the 219BT?

Many web systems hard-code the bad assumption that there is a strict one-to-one mapping between email addresses and actual people. This gets weird when paying by Paypal with a different email address for the Paypal account (among many other corner cases). It’s probably just a bug in the site caused by a bad assumption.

I see this type of bug all the time… but I also have about a thousand email addresses.

My lights came in today, I’ve already given one to SWMBO.

My order arrived today. Some pics:

Tailstanding:

P.S. A question: Does this work (safely) with 10440? I didn’t search the whole thread, but didn’t see a definitive answer.

Thanks,
Jim

For a few secs it's safe, then the heat starts. Is the heat safe? well, depends how long you can take the heat. After that it's not safe. Ok - I really don't know... Smile

They heat up pretty quick on a good or bad 10440, is the bottom line...

I received my two BLF-348s today.

The engraving is really crooked on one of them, but they both work, and that's what matters. ;)

These look great, feel great and work well. I really like the positive engagement of the tail switch. Very good quality.

Thanks Matt

While I thought about replying to the PM, I’ll just tell everyone here- got mine today and they look great.

Thank goodness for your restraint.

Oh, and got mine today too. I am about to try them out but they look good at first glance.

You may have the driest humor here on BLF, whenever I watch one of your youtube videos I need to have a drink (beer) nearby.

Don’t change!!

2 more landed in Oregon. Sweet little light!

I’ll try!

Seriously folks, scoop these last lights up. This is a shame these are limited, they’re so idiot proof and well made. The tint and output are both awesome too. It’s a perfect and cheap no frills light made for those single ply people in your life.

Got mine in today.

Simple, beautiful light. One mode, takes alkaline, you can give them to a responsible kid with no worries…

Thanks the for organizing this Group Buy.

Like Mhanlen says above, get at least one while still available, the Nichia 219B alone is worth it.

All mine arrived yesterday and all I can say is they are incredible little lights. Thanks, the, for organizing this awesome deal!!

So .

People are getting their lights and not a single word about tint , beam profile and CRI ?

C'mon .

Really ?

I'm so happy you got your new light

Is it all that you want ? Is it bright ?

I just need to know more

Tell me what is in store

Will I see all the colors alright ?

First time for a Nichia 219B ~4500K. Looks great, lousy at beamshots, plus all the tint issues between camera settings and monitors.

The colors look good to me, but I am not an aficionado of the “pop” in colors….

Beam profile is about a 4 foot hot spot at 10 feet away, plenty of spill. Ran it on a LiFePo4 10440, got warm, not hot. The protected trustfires do not fit. Output increased about half again on LiFePo4’s.

It is a great little light, the thing is a benchmark for single mode penlights. Good balance on everything, the tint is wonderful, at least to me….
