Brinyte B158 Flashlight GB- Ordering is a GO with coupon, all details in the OP! Updated: 12-09-15

I dunno for sure. I don’t have a proper set of leads for my multimeter right now. I plan on swapping out both emitter and driver. Were the stock versions of those other lights tested? I don’t have any of them, but my review has plenty of info about outputs and lux.

Since the bare modules are happening, please take out one of each of the color pills and give me 4 bares instead.

Gotcha. Thanks man. Sorry it’s been back and forth (with both saying it won’t happen at one point), but I’ve got confirmation from both parties now. And they come with the black spacer and white retaining disc.

I would like some bare pills, but not for more than 3 dollar each (it is just a piece of brass you see..)

Waiting for the price to appear :-)

I know it’s kind of expensive. Especially when the LED and Driver versions are only $10- and you can get whole flashlight hosts for the same price. Feel free to contact Gear Best and tell them your thoughts! 2 days ago was the first time I have heard about any pricing on them. You know, after about 50+ emails/PMs have been exchanged through parties. Sheesh.

I suppose some are waiting on a second review by KKW just as a matter of course but already the price seems very good compared to the A6 and X6 GB’s(which it should given the stock nature of the light) and if the quality is anywhere between the Manker and either EE or Convoy it should be a slam dunk. This should be a huge step up from any SK68 in most aspects other than small size. With two pills(or even three) this should be an extremely versatile light.

I’d like to add a brass pill please.

Done! Within a matter of a few seconds you could do a complete emitter and driver swap. I mean I hope the brass pills are a bit cheaper, but I’ll have a few combinations ready to go for the light if I need.

But yeah, if you’re on the fence wait for KKW. I don’t have the 1405 to compare this light too, so he’d be the real expert on the quality differences.

Thanks, I am grateful to you for organizing this and putting in such good effort.

My light is due in Tuesday next week, assuming it makes it by Wednesday I’ll have stock and modified numbers and my impressions by next weekend at the latest. I’m excited for this light, I think it’s got a lot of potential to displace the T20 for low/mid price budget zoomie king. I hope it’s as watertight as it claims, that’s a big draw for me.

My parts were returned to sender because I used an old address, so I’m waiting on mtn. Electronics to get the package and resend it. I would have had it modified by now, but I screwed it up. Curious to hear what you think. Looks like we have plenty of time considering the pace of this buy.

Awesome job getting us the bare pills! I’ll take one bare pill too please.

I’m not going to mod this light, in stock form doesn’t this put out more light than the Stock UF-1405 ? The Brinyte White version coming in at 777 - 900lm in flood mode ?

I am following this thread but I am not following GB any more. I would also recommend better shipping option with GB or you could be disappointed.

Looking forward for moding results from KKW and mhanlen.

You’ll have to wait for KKWs review before we find this out, as I don’t own a 1405. But I got a maximum of 777 lumens out of mine in flood.

I agree on the shipping. I’ve mentioned it several times in this thread, and in all caps in the OP. The point of this group buy is to save $5 to $7 bucks over the fasttech price. If I were purchasing this light, and when I buy the bare pills, I will add tracking to my order. Do not buy it if you don’t want to add tracking or upgraded shipping. It’s $30 right now at fasttech.

Put me down for 1 red light and 1 bare pill.

Question though, since I’d be swapping these modules “in the field” as needed, do you more experienced collectors have a source for a pill container, akin to the little 2 cell containers that are so handy and pocketable? I mean, I can find something that would protect it but ideally I’d like a purpose-made that fit a generic pill and 18650 without too much extra room for movement.

Anyone know if those pills fit any of the similar rotating-zoom flashlights out there?
They look familiar.

Plastic film canister works for most loose modules. For p60’s cut a foam disc for the bottom and put the reflector in fac down. For modules without a reflector try to cut a snug foam socket so the led dome doesn’t crash around.

Off-topic but for emphasis: Absolutely pay for tracking if not included and don’t use ‘Standard Shipping’, ever (if overseas); not worth the risk. GB should really not allow untracked overseas shipments but that’s not my call. Sorry to clutter your thread.

I agree fully. I’ve said it several times, but honestly it can’t be said enough. This thread is small enough that everyone can feel free to discuss the light or talk about whatever, and I can still easily keep up with additions or changes.
