Sold out! - GBGB: BLF-348 - Classy and Small 1xAAA Stainless Steel light, with Nichia NVSW219B-V1 R9050

Thats bad news. High CRI was the main reason I ordered this light. I havent got my light yet.

Well Iā€™ll throw in the contrarian position, because I donā€™t know what these other folks are going on about. I also only bought one and its great - works flawlessly, beautiful tint, great CRI. And yes I have other 219b emitters for comparison. Its so good that I went back and ordered a couple more, for some reason.

You folks who havenā€™t received yours yet can stop worrying - the light is great.

You can't compare the CRI of 2 different tints without being subjective, the 4500K is simply another tint (nominal by the way), the CRI is not, you just totally prefer the 4500K. I am saying this because I go some NVSW219B-V1 in 5000K and it is unfair to call them as not having good CRI.

+1

Please note that the light uses the 219B-V1 emitter, that started shipping last spring, itā€™s 5000K as opposed to previous 219B with 4500K.

Itā€™s a more natural color temperature and the typical CRI is 93 (previous version is 92).

@Ormbett: Donā€™t worry mate. Itā€™s high CRI. All Nichia 219B areā€¦

Thanks! After the recent posts in this thread I feel much better

Ok, there was just some metal in wrong place behind the pill - working now.

Tested 4 side by side against white wall and there are some small tint differences. Some a bit warmer, some a bit cooler. You can tell when they are side by side but individually tested its hard to say which one is whichā€¦

I ordered one of these. Didnā€™t use a coupon (only knocked a few pennies off) as it meant I wouldnā€™t be able to use a few points Iā€™d earned. The points took the price down to Ā£3.40, happy enough with that. For once in my life I have more flashlights en route than I do knivesā€¦ā€¦.!!!

What? Not on any of mine.

Switch your ā€œInput formatā€ (below the comment box) to ā€œAdvancedā€ and you can drag and drop a picture in (make it small first if itā€™s huge)

You also need to add more carriage returns and otherwise fiddle a bit if youā€™re writing text, usually itā€™s not worth doing, but to post a pic, try that.

Choose the ā€œotherā€ checkout, either with or without PayPal, I forget ā€” one but not the other checkout button lets you uncheck that tracking option

I think Iā€™d be more likely to drill the clip as my chubs barely fit the button as it is.

Is this what you were referring to:

Wait, did you get that hole on one of the lights you recā€™d from this group buy?
None of mine came like that. Nicely done, however it was done.

Itā€™s doable ā€” resembles the hole that CK drilled out last year with a ball mill

Yes, it was already in/on the light.

Itā€™s funny. I bought a bunch of aftermarket clips and even tried a preon clip. I think I like the stock one best. Any one want some Cnq aftermarket clips?

Mine came after about 3 weeks. Very nice.

I agree but only partially.

IMO colors look ā€œcorrectā€. On the other hand, they are all a bit more towards ā€œgreyishā€ or something like that.
I think it may be because of higher K but IĀ“m not sure.
Definitely looks a little different than with warmer white Nichias.

One of mine has almost completely ā€œtintlessā€ beam. I cannot honestly tell any colors from the bare beam when pointing at something white and this is new to me 8)

I have two lights, one is throwier than the other, the other is slightly warmer, i think, I will have to have a closer look where that comes from, but I do not expect very precise engineering on a 7 dollar light

Btw, this $7.71 Fasttech light has the exact same build as the gb light (but with a -not fake- Cree XP-E led): https://www.fasttech.com/products/1601/10008272/1741600-mini-pen-style-1-cree-r3-1-mode-240-lumen-cool

Ugh another idiotic post sent to all participants. Next time try harder to resist.
