The easiest thing to do is to unscrew the cover out. I don’t see anything can go wrong.
BTW if the photo site works, you should be able to attach the photos to your post, not just the link.
I thanks that white piece of plastic is electrical isolation. And I don’t have another one and the end of my spanner wrenche is sharp. I’m afraid it will get torn up

I received the one order from here. It looks like the same as yours. The good thing about this C8 is that it takes standard C8 pills. It can serve as a good cheap C8 host.
Got mine in and it is an OK little light for $4 shipped. Seen much worse. Original tint has bluish color, but much whiter than I would have expected. Reflowed a Nichia 219A from FastTech onto the aluminum board and it makes for a nice Warm White little light… a good improvement for less than $1 with the new LED. The pill is hollow, it is the middle section and the driver and LED are press fit from their respective sides. There is plenty of wire to pry the LED out and desolder it for reflow. If I get in any blank noctigons, I may file one down to this diameter, but the stock one is not running hot at all. The driver is one mode, but looks pretty good and runs no problem on a 3.2V LiFePO4 AAA with a noticeable improvement in brightness… Good find cajampa!
Plastic lens, but Hugsby XP1 lens fits, needs an Oring up front too…

Do you have any recommendation for the best LiFePO4 AAA? Unfortunately HKJ dosen’t test much LiFePO4 so i have no idea what to get.
And get some 10mm sinpads instead of noctigons, those are dropins on most small lights like these.
I have the Soshine ones from FastTech, they seem to be good, I do not know if they are the best though.
The 10mm sinkpads are too small for these, there is only a shelf and they would need to be about 2-3mm wider, thus the filing down of the 16mm… Either way, good little light, even stock, for the money…

No, that is the only problem, for LiFePO4’s there are no good small cheap chargers… Perhaps the Nitecore D2? Or the Xtar WP2H

For 4.2v 10440 we have the cheap and excellent Xstar MC0, i hope one for LiFePO4 will turn up.

I just ordered one of these for US $3.44. I figured that a Nichia upgrade might be all this needs.

Assuming I have the seller right, and I’m pretty sure I do, 4-cn922 sent me one with an lb emitter, but solid pill, driver seems decent, switch seems nicer than others, too. Nicely finished c8.
I bought two C8s from securityingstore (http://www.ebay.com/itm/331455918001?\_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT). The best thing is that they take the standard UF brass pill, e.g., the one sell by FT. It will make a very good host for the cost (<$5).

Thought that TomTop’s 18650 might turn in the vein of Hugsby’s, alas it did not, waste of money, made pictures of it, in short - plastic reflector, dirty lens, two bright blue LED’s on each side of the switch, didnt try out charging feature(bought it for slightly above 5$ with car and wall charger, without them it costs below 5:money_mouth_face:, battery tube fits my red Convoy S2+ and cheap C8 with deep reflector, came with pocket clip which scratches light easily, scratched my Convoy too, has rust to it, took it apart, surprise - LB star with probably fake XP-E, sits on a shelf.
