18650 TrustFire Flames 2400 mAh Battery Test

dx last year. One was a dud as well. Kind of turned me off buying them from dx.

i to got some dud,s from DX early in the year low mAh and they tripped on high in some of my torches so i pulled the pcb,s off but they where still crap and thats why i buy them from here

I see that the links here are for the 2400 mah TF Flames, Manafont also carries the "3000 mah" Flames. I seem to recall seeing another thread that the "3000" actually put out something like 2600 mah, which still beats the 2400 mah Flames. Am I wrong? Anyone know which thread that was in, as I've tried looking but could not find?

I have not seen it sorry, I did a 1amp charge last night I’ll post the data sheet when I get home from work

Interesting- I just yesterday got 2 Ultrafire *3600 mah Blacks yesterday -they were available locally by mail and they take much longer to charge than the Ultrafire Blue that shipped with the Torch and charger from Ebay-

Also un-scientific ( and from a novice about all this ) - they also last longer but these have an Ultrafire Name Logo etched into the bottom Negative plate of the battery-not from Ebay. But not as bad as some have said- dealer said they were from the Ultrafire Rep.

I ordered a Redilast 2900mah just to see what a real high capacity, honest rated battery is like- not from Ebay.

eBay is such a gamble hey, I’ve got so many dodgy torch deals off eBay I rather pay a bit more else were, but many people say ebays great… I’m going to get some red list batteries still undecided on 2600, 2900 or back order some 3100, I know you can get the same batteries unprotected cheaper but I like the idea of them being protected

I’ve got some the take 900 mAh out of 2400 mAh and suffer from voltage sag but the protection circuits work well every time so I gave them to my old man

The gray shell Ultrafire batteries are not reliable! I discarded lots of 18650, 16340 & 14500 already

I want to try out those 3000mAh Ultrafire flames but the nearly 12 bucks cost at MF puts me off (I'd rather spend $1.50 and get the XTAR 2600, but then i have over 20pcs of them so i don't think i need more LOL!).

Kaidomain is even better, 16 bucks. :) I can get Panny 3100s for below 20 bucks!

My 8pcs of TF Flames 2400 all tested to be 2200mAh range @ 1A though.... 4 more in transit. :)

It's $13.50 shipped here, no worries on the declaration as i'd imagine the import taxes are super there, "you can buy 6pcs and still won't feel a pinch", drop Serena an email. :) Add $2 for registered but that's not necessary.

They are basically protected Sanyos, with a PCB current limit of ~ 5A. Slightly higher resistance than the unpro Sanyo 2600 due to PCB but not an issue in majority of the usage.

Where did you get the Trustfire 3000mAh flames? They are different in wrapped as compared to the 2400mAhs.

You can get 2200, 2400 and 2600 the 2600 test I’ve seen take under 2500 and most people seam to like them there’s a deal on here for 2400 and 2600

My trustfire flames work well in my TR-3T6 (tripple Xm-l) with or with out the extension tubes in 2 x 18650 or 3 x 18650 mode

That’s kind of my point but each to there own, I guess they have a bad rep cause of DX and eBay but I’ve tested mine to 5 amp draw and they will do it they are ok for cheapies, I only have 3 single cell lights (ive given 2 away) and 2 are under performers I’ve tested them with a few cheap brands so now I’ll test the with some top shelf batteries if they draw the same there abouts it’s the drivers not the batteries, so then I’ll swap drivers and start the testing again. So I will say these are geat multi cell batteries great for torches that use two or more batteries at once, then once I’ve done more testing I’ll say yes or no to single cell and dd lights others say they are fine and test on my charger say they will give 5 amps and the protection does not trip but I’ll would like to know myself. If that makes sence as right now I know mine take good mAh still for old used batteries and give good run times in my multi cell lights

You must see the discharge curve too. Very rarely do you use the whole of the cell's capacity till the end.

any way last night i did a 1 amp charge of a used trustfire flame.

internal resistance of 170 milliohm,s

start of the charge cycle

end of the charge cycle

3.6v to 4.2v 2352 mAh @ 1 amp

im doing another charge now at 1 amp

You mean TF Flames, right? Everything I have read has said that the UF's do not come close to matching their rated capacities. I have only seen one mention of testing the 3000 mah TF FLames. Still looking for it.

Oh yeah...hehe...Trustfire Flames and not Ultrafire Flames.

Just checking. Wouldn't surprise me if Ultrafire didn't come out with their own "Flames" wrapper to try to confuse newbies. :)

Yes. I read that recently also somewhere that the 3000mah Trustfires are about 2600 mah, tested slightly better than the consistently rated Trustfire Flames that usually test at 2450mah.

Wonder why they didn't just call them Trustfire Flame PLUS with extra 100-150 mah.

I've not read anything good about Ultrafires - but the ones I got from 200 miles away in 2days are good compared to the Blue Ultrafires.

As I said these are rated *3600 mah( ridiculous ) but have an engraved Ultrafire logo on negative end plate- anyone seen that before ?

Maybe we should have a list of USA Suppliers- for when people need the them quickly- but I know this is an international Forum.

*Maybe they mean 3600 mah per PAIR

No problem here with a list of US suppliers even though I live on another continent. Many people here do live on the American continent.

Only problem for me is that the US post costs a lot more than China/HK Post.

And our Customs are a lot more interested in stuff from the US than stuff from China.

Go ahead - I may not be able to benefit from US only offers, but many folks here can.
