DD vs. stacking chips?

I have always just dropped in 7135 linear drivers without mods but want to go up to 5A in a larger host like the L2 with a single 18650 and xm-l2. what do you guys recommend—or
correct me— should I get a DD driver or stack more chips/use slave board? and after that decision is made, do
I just use a higher discharge cell?

If you’re going for higher amps then start with spring bypasses otherwise the springs will overheat and lose their temper and shape. Make sure the led is on a DTP board(copper is best) and get an FET +1 driver from RMM and pick a UI you like. A high current cell is a good idea but there are some tweener cells that have good capacity and good draw though not the best at either.

If you want to get the most out of it....follow Rufus' advice.

ok. thanks… yes I have done spring bypasses and always use LEDs on noctigons. I’m looking at the dd drivers from RMM.
is there a significant difference in bypassing with braid vs using silicone wire?
