The CPF BICKERING SHIT is driving me away from this forum, many times I've seen guys here legitimately banned and they come here crying. Can't remember who it was, someone wit a vulgar avatar the other day. I didn't even know about CPF till I starting reading all the shit here.
Edit: I even notice one member here has his ban like a medal of honour in his signature, even though his ban ended months ago acording to his sig.
Please delete my account, this forum is typical of the youth of today they don't care for rules or aurhority and will throw a tantrum any chance they get.

Two members locked themselves into a pointless squabble arising from a misunderstanding; then two other members joined in, quite unnecessarily. Three narrowly escaped corrective action; the fourth has been suspended. gcbryan, your post was pure trolling, with no other possible outcome than that of inflaming the squabble. Your usual preference is to portray yourself as a wise and knowledgeable older member, but on this showing, you are clearly not up to it. Your sneering and contemptuous personal attack on another member means the rest of us will now be able to enjoy a whole week free of further lofty pontification from you. Now… back on topic, please.
*I have reviewed all of the posts that were deleted from this thread and decided to unban gcbryan. I have made this decision because he was not the only one who posted unnecessary and inappropriate responses in this thread. Several of you should have been banned due to your behavior. In the interest of fairness, if one is to be banned then all should be banned. However seeing as how I *DO* believe most of you are capable of behaving as adults, I have decided not to do that. Two moderators had to step into this thread to get it back on track. You all know the rules of these forums and how you are expected to comport yourselves. You should not need to be reminded... but when you are, it should be heeded. Further rude, trollish and baiting behavior *WILL NOT* be tolerated... the bannings will begin until morale improves.
The thread title says it is another CPF post, so you can skip it if you want. If you're at CPF, you can't write about it, so this is really the only place to vent.
Nice that they have rescinded the ban on gcbryan, but of course they still haven't deleted the moderator's attack on him, calling him condescending and sneering.
I just received an email from Greta with a link to the post mentioned above. I don't know if it was my PM to DM51 (I would imagine so) or whether Greta suddenly decided that my banning was unfair.
In true CPF fashion however they admit no mistake on their part and still leave the rude remarks made by DM51 toward me and she still gets in a little lecture to others involved.
The bottom line was that no moderation was ever needed.
I thanked her for the lifting of the ban but requested that she take another look at DM51's comments and I filled in a few facts that she may not be aware of.
Southern Aurora don't let threads like this drive you away from BLF. If you don't like threads talking about CPF don't read them. I don't entirely disagree with your remarks however if you are implying that I deserved to be banned then I will respectfully disagree with that.
I wouldn't agree however that anyone who decides to talk about CPF or any other topic in the Off-Topic Chatter forum is "crying" anymore than I would characterize your post as whining.

at the rate they're going, they won't have anyone but shills and newbies left to post. they're chasing away a lot of members who contribute good content.

I pointed out something similar in my original PM to DM51 and that is that the intellectual capital contributed by members in the form of posts is what keeps CPF going. When you ban someone with more than 2000 posts for no reason it doesn't make sense and then when you throw in an insult it really makes no sense. It's like shooting yourself in the foot.
I didn't miss it either, Lang. One of the more sane among us, Lang is. Joined around the same time I did, been a great member ever since and I'll donate my 1134th post (or whatever it is) to SB for letting us have fun here.

Well, I finally got the obnoxious DM51 comments about me removed. They are not exactly a communicative group but when they go overboard and you call them on it without losing your cool I guess they do possess some degree of reasonableness.
I'm very glad we don't have that kind of thing to deal with here.
that might of been me, not whinging, but i had a mild avator and was band for it or maybe some thing else lolls.

I was banned by that silly man a year or two ago for openly pointing out his lack of discretion when questioning a member about shilling for a company (accusations which turned out to be unfounded). I lurk there at times to find out the latest info but I have no interest in re-joining to deal with such a weak minded mod.

Aurora, if the "CPF Bickering" stuff here at BLF gets under your skin, there aren't many forums on the Internet where you will be comfortable. The anonymity of the WWW has made it very easy for a lot of folks to vent their frustrations and many (not here at BLF) are miserable, irritating, and profane individuals. This is a very pleasant place, especially in comparison to other forums on the Internet.
BTW, as I write this CPF is down (again). I get a BIG note that says

Staying off topic... I can only answer for myself: I think the avatar was funny with a very mildly vulgar twist. I think that kind of mild vulgarity is perfectly appropriate for the audience. (CPF isn't aimed at 6 year olds, after all.)
whether it's appropriate or not is a matter of debate and i don't really care about that. i just wanted to know if benkie thought the "F" word was mild or not vulgar.
and whether appropriate or not, if it is by your definition "mildly vulgar" it does break one of CPF's rules and also one of the few rules that BLF has - no swearing or dirty language.
I just want to add that I absolutely LOVE this kind of moderation. I prefer a family friendly environment as my kids are always over my shoulder while I'm on the various forums, and I really appreciate not having to hide anything from them. And even taking the family angle out of it, I have no desire to read/see obscene content. So I greatly appreciate forums that put some filter on member accepted behavior.
The profane avatar deserved a ban, it would get banned on numerous forums. But gcbryan did not deserve the treatment he received.
