Cool attempt for red+219C configuration, I am huge fan of such combo. Soldering small parts requires a lot of patient, which I seriously lacking off now. Your mod also reminds me of tterev3's crazy RGBUV SC02
Nitecore's twin emitters design is preferred layout for optimum beam profile and brightness.
Can I trade more lights with your pre-assembled tailcap LED in future?
I’ve actually destroyed 3 or 4 S2 reflectors trying to drill a hole to do that very thing. I might have to take another stab at it some time, as I agree that is probably the best solution.
There are plenty of ways to get extra red modes it. It’s just about having the right firmware and driver for it, with the correct implementation. It’s actually very difficult.
Yes. I tried a tough, baked-on enamel, but it just cracked and flaked off when I screwed it down. So I ended up going with plastidip, a sort of latex-y rubberized paint.
Yup, got one of those, the silver was the interest… The other thing is that these are usually made by a 3rd party and sometimes you can find alternate Anodizing colors by finding other links… Like the pic FreeMe had posted. Or the OP of this “S6” in Olive…
I think the AA version of this is one of the most stout bodies for AA that I have seen, the only one I can run a FET driven Nichia 219C in without having it become too hot to hold in 10 seconds or less. A thick body tube really helps act as a heatsink, much needed being 14500 only now with the FET.
I am going to get one of these Olive bodies too, but was really hoping to find if the AA version has other anodizing colors as well…
