Sold out! - GBGB: BLF-348 - Classy and Small 1xAAA Stainless Steel light, with Nichia NVSW219B-V1 R9050

Has anyone nodded the driver for lower output? I want to give my little girl one but she has a tendency to shine lights in people’s faces.

I’m good with a lower output, maybe half of the original.

Just buy an MXDL AAA and don’t bother every time she drops it on tile floor.

Mine finally arrived. Ordered two on November 22, arrived today December 14 in California, a day before my birthday.

I’m stoked on these things. I wish I bought a dozen of them to give away to coworkers and friends for Christmas. I only bought two, and I would feel bad giving only one away, so I keep the engraved version, and my 3 year old daughter gets the plain one for Christmas.

It’s perfect because its bright enough to be useful, but not too bright if she accidentally shines herself (or someone else) in the eyes.

I did do the gifting of a dozen to co-workers.

People love this light!

…and then I tell them it is Li-Ion compatible too

A standard cell won’t last long but it won’t be overly bright after some use so that might make this light more ‘child friendly’.

Gifting all but two of mine too, one for a stash with Li Primary and the other to play with on LiIon. Sadly, only one or two giftees can be trusted with LiIon and I’m going to ask them about that once they get theirs in their hands and see what they can do. I got Xtar MC1 for that but I understand it’s charge rate is really too high. Would be nice to know of an equally cheap factory-made charger good for the 10440, don’t want to gift a chip-with-magnets but I’m going to do that build for myself.

You are in luck but you better hurry… 3 left!

I trust XTAR and this is a reliable unit.

Sigh. I’ve stopped buying from Gearbest a long time ago. They just can’t keep things together, at least on my orders.

But since this was a BLF light, I decided to give it in.

Now over two months later, no BLF light, and they give me tracking that shows it shipped one month after order, and is now in France.

Geez Gearbest… never fail :frowning:

i have a “normal” singfire 348 cold white and just received my 2with nichia
with the same batteries the nichia appears less bright and rose tint
is it my flashlights that are defective ?

PMed you to check this

Not defective. It will appear less bright because of the wider beam. Slight rose tint is the trade mark of Nichia emitters, even though this particular emitter is not so rosy than for example the original 219B. Slight variations in tint are normal, so your's can be more on the rosy side.

thank you the for the explaination

i don’t like it much. I will try with a 10440

24 days from order to delivery.

Very happy with this robust little torch - it really is classy.

Only slight disappointment is that the engraving is a bit lopsided but meh, who cares.

Lanyard on the BLF-348

This one came from the free Harbor Freight flashlight.
Plenty of room in the clip for the lanyard ring.

My second BLF-348 finally arrived after almost a month. This one has a different beam color. My first example has more of a nice white or cooler beam. Being that I prefer CW in my lights, I really like it. This second example has a warmer almost yellowish tint. Seems to me that it has a different emitter. Oh well, it was cheap and it’s still bright using a 10440.

That’s exactly what I’ve been doing with these types of lights for awhile now. You can buy tiny stainless split rings at Walmart that fit into that loop in the clip and then just add a larger split ring of your choice to the small one. Thanks for showing that.

Hopefully it's an honest mistake...

Gebe, it may be ok with you...but not me...I'll squeal shrilly should they send me one of those.

I’m working on a review for this light. I just finished a video runtime test with both my lights, with a 10440 and eneloop. The 10440 lasts about 25 minutes or so. It seems to have thermal regulation because it gets brighter and dimmer- something that doesn’t happen with an eneloop. The eneloop lasts about an hour and 10 minutes before becoming unusable. No low voltage protection from the 10440 either. At least it seems there is none.

Very interesting that it survived 25min on a 10440, but the big question is did you use an IMR10440 like Efest? Or a lesser ICR 10440 like the ultrafire or soshine for example?
Do you mean by “gets brighter and dimmer” that it slowly moves up and down in output that seems to be regulated by the heat? And did you test in the hand or tailstanding with no extra heatsinking than itself?

I just laid it on the ground like I do with all my runtime tests. No fan, and no extra heatsinking. Yes exactly, it gets brighter and dimmer, brighter and dimmer like thermal regulation often behaves. Yes, I used the eFest 10440. I tried measuring the light’s temperature, but since the surface is polished, my laser thermometer will not get a reading off the light.

Update: Received the light. It’s a beauty.

Tracking still says it is in Germany. I’m sure it will stay there forever, now that the package is with me and there’s nothing to scan. For what it’s worth it seems that the shipper is the problem, not Gearbest.

Anyhow I love the light. Really good, smooth and beautiful tint. I must say thanks to the and Gearbest for making this deal.
