Home Depot Deal Alerts & Discussion Thread

Hey-hey HEY!!

Now that kind of talk is just NOT APPROPRIATE in this forum! Think of the children!

(turns Ryobi-green with envyā€¦)
EDIT: (then leaves to go to HD!!!)

Really I can stop anytime

Back to home depot and came upon this three bulb led 3C defiant light 850 Lumens floody light for 9.88.

3 Hour run time with 3 modes High low and strobe.

Seems solid and very well built without being too heavy and just right to have in the car or to walk the dog.

Iā€™ll try to add a picture later.

They also had a dozen of the ryobi string trimmers but for $80.00 not $40.00, isnā€™t that strangeā€¦

Maybe they were not the 40V string trimmers. They cleared out in the stores in RI, MA and CT that I was in and they were cleared out at some MO stores that a friend checked. All at $40 for the 40V version. I also saw 20V Black and Decker string trimmers on clearance for $75.06. If those last this round of clearance, they will be priced again at around $25.03

That flashlight you bought is good just the way it is. I wouldnā€™t try to mod it.

I didnā€™t mention this, but when that girl in gardening pulled that tub out from under the shelf, I spied another 40V pack in there. There was also a 56V pack for another brand. Those 2 packs could someday end up in the recycle bin. :stuck_out_tongue:

You could well be right I didnā€™t look too close just happened to notice them.

Just as I thought. The Black and Decker string trimmers went to $25.03

And they include a 4Ah 20V Ali Ion battery

And I really need a weed wacker hopefully I can find one west of Boston

Not only that one but this 56V string trimmer is on clearance at $55.03

It comes with the battery and charger and the battery is a monster

The store I was in had 3, new in the box. I grabbed 2, not for myself but for others.

In other news

I found the big can of WD40 for a penny, it was $2.02 as I posted a couple of days ago
And I came across this.
Eight of the automatic light control units. Last month I got some at the ā€œ3ā€ price. That was a good deal, but by now I knew they should be a penny.

These were squeezed in between some light fixtures, a place they wouldnā€™t normally be and the got missed when it was time for an employee to pull them. I was in that isle gathering some electrical parts when I spotted them. I wasnā€™t going to be piggy about it so I only grabbed 5. After I self checked out and went outside I realized that I forgot to get cable staples so I went back in, got the staples and picked up the other 3

Damn, you've been on a terror as of late. I've been hitting my closest HD playing weed wacker-a-mole with no success.

I have some items in my sights that should hit a penny soon, but I bet they will disappear just before they should hit a penny. I did find one of those 12v Rigid Li-ion packs you alerted us to (An awesome find). Someone must have hid it and then forgot about. It, unfortunately, rang up for $42.

Tomorrow is Saturday. You should hit the nearest store in morning. There are at least 3 string trimmers on clearance now, the 40V Ryobi, 20V Black and Decker and the big 56V EGO

EDIT:
The 15ā€ EGO string trimmer is on clearance, NOT the 12ā€

Thatā€™s why we love you, big guy!

Can I PM you my ship-to address??

Sure, but the shipping is going to be a killer

Arrgghh all the kids home from college and me with no car, I hope to report back later today some success.

I never knew about the penny items either

Dchomak Iā€™m just glad you dont live near me I wouldnā€™t have a chance.

Interestingā€¦ I wonder what Dave is up to :stuck_out_tongue:

I would recommend using plastic NM staples . I donā€™t like metal staples; they hurt the wire more, you have to worry about how far youā€™re hammering it, and they are hard to remove.

Staples are used to hold the wire in place, you do not need to pound them in like a nailā€¦ā€¦ā€¦the top of the staple does not even have to be in contact with the wire.

Both kinds of staples are available and both kinds are used.
The most important thing is that I went back in and got those other 3 light controllers.

Congrats.

My closest HD is 42 miles away on weekends. Just not worth the hike.

Well, according to The Hitch hike rā€™s Guide to the Galaxy , 42 is the Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe and Everything. The Universe is calling, What more do you need?
Get your butt over to HD!

BTW, that 40V Ryobi pack contains 10 pairs of 18650 cells in series. When fully charged, 10 * 4.2V = 42 Volts.

do not forget the towel!

Man, I live within 5 minutes of two HDā€™s and their clearance sections are nothing what people post here are like.

The newer Electrical codes require insulated staples only- canā€™t legally use the others but I still do with minor un-inspected work on old houses where they are already everywhere else. I think they change codes just to have something to do sometimes.

And thanks for the fish.
