Ultimate aspherical flashlight set / Uniquefire 1508

Now if only it didnā€™t say unique fireā€¦.

Guys I see that you are not familiar with this design so I will talk about this:

This is Dereelight focusing system. They copy-pasted Dereelight which is pretty expensive aspherical flashlight.

But they did not only copy pasted they also improved it.

- So now you have mono main tube without redundant parts (Bibihang from this forum is well familiar with redudant parts dereelight uses :) ),

- Finger swappable brass pill

I don't know yet... But if they managed to get Dereelight lenses vendor; lenses should have at least 20% more throw than older 15.. series(1503, 1504 etc.)

Derellight has much better lenses than Uniquefire and now we got to see if they use same lenses as in 15.. series or new better one.

Edit: More about focusing system: This focusing system does not have stop for fully focused beam like 15.. series have. It is normal to go in overfocus or underfocus with this system if you want. But in my experience if they really use Dereelight lenses it will probably not have very good defocus mode(flood mode). So maybe it will not be as good as real zoomie flashlight. We yet have to see that.

15.. Series of flashlights have much better flood mode + they have focus stop and faster focusing action than my Dereelight flashlights.

But anyway I would chose this dereelight system over 15.. system anytime.

Cheers!

Hi, been not around BLF for quite some time (due to some personal issues) until one of my flashaholic friends informed me about this new Uniquefire zoomie.

Yes, as what luminarium iaculator said the Xsearcher has redundant parts which is what I donā€™t like about them. I used to work on my friendā€™s Xsearcher, and the neck assembly is just ridiculous to say the least - Those who have one or at least seen one know what Iā€™m talking about.

I have not seen the teardown of this new Uniquefire light yet, but from the pictures it looks like everything is quite straight forward, which is a good thing for moddersā€¦ and did I mention that the 74mm lens is really something? I was able to mod and produce 400kcd with my 1405 (which has 66mm lens), so with this 74mm lens I believe it can easily achieve 500kcd, or even 600kcd when properly tuned.

I would like to know what is the driver diameter that the pill can accept? Hopefully it can accept something around 21mm.

I just noticed, no more ridiculous fat focus ring like the 1504/1405 has  that was a feature i really didnā€™t like on the 1504.

15.. Series of flashlights are chunkier so yes this new light should be much lighter than them.

But 15.. series, especially smaller brothers are not bad either. They are real zoomies with fast focusing action with over-focus stop.

Dereelight system does not have fast focusing action, neither it has overfocus stop neither it has nice flood beam so if this new series is identical copy of Dereelight maybe it will not be for everyones taste. We will see.

I am almost sure that 17mm buck drivers will be used in default flashlights.

Yeah, I also have the feeling that they are going to use the 17mm buck driver, again. :expressionless:

But if the 1508 pill can be directly swapped with the 1405 pill then it will be not that much of an issue to me.

Friend it is completely different pill (except black retaining ring). And is brass one. Looks better than 1504 pill? :)

I hated the fact that pills are not interchangeable with 15.. series flashlight... This one will be used in all head sizes :), and if someone have need to solder led emitter to pill will be more than happy to hear this.

So, when will this be available to regular retail customers? It would be nice to have a less expensive Dereelight type/quality light option.

Definitely getting one of these

Exactly!

Any update on this light especially the 74mm version? Anyone got one of these already?

Hey guys, I have been off the site for a while due to some issues. Iā€™m already inquiring on these.

I still did not tried this :( . I am to occupied with 50 mm aspherics (B158 & UF1503).

Glad that you are back n10sivern.

Hope you'll review this new aspheric set ;)

Go ahead and set up the group buy, Iā€™m in for a few sets.

Interesting. Hopefully they will want to have one reviewed by someone here.

24 hour flash group buy is in this thread. Here is your chance to piggyback on my order and be one of the first to get this light. Sorry, but this is for US people only. Told yā€™all I was working on getting these!!!

Not in for your gb, but glad to see you back n10s!

Thanks djozz. Life just sometimes gets in the way of fun. Iā€™m back, maybe not as much as I was before, but back all the same. I have several lights I need to build and review. I asked for this light from Uniquefire 8 months ago. Nice to see they are finally listening.

That will happen to me too at some point. I just hope that there will always remain some spare time for hobbying, at whatever pace. :-)

74 mm is the head diameter, not the lens size, correct? How does this compare to the 1504? Just can't find an accurate measurement posted here on BLF - GearBest says 7 cm for head diameter, but who knows how accurate that is.

Alibaba says for the 1504 a 67 mm lens, 71 mm head diameter, so this light's 74 mm number is the biggest. Is this the biggest convex zoomie then, at least reasonably priced one?
