I have not been following this thread so please forgive if these questions have been answered.....
- Which Convoy lights is that deep clip to fit?
- Do we have an estimated or projected cost of that deep clip?

Hey no! Well maybe a little bit. When I say black button I mean that what I am asking for is the steel piston switch with a black coating. However, if that isnât feasible I would settle for a black rubber boot. Tusken Raiders unite!

Alas, the smiles of a few fellow BLF nut jobs is payment enough⌠even if they are sticking out their tongues in my general direction in the process.
- It will definitely fit the red, blue and green S2+ and the (hopefully) soon to be desert tan with black button :heart_eyes: It would also appear to fit the latest generation Convoy C8 and a few other S series models but I do not have a complete list yet. I expect one from Simon fairly soon
- I do not have a price yet but this is Simon weâre talking about so itâs going to be very affordable.
So I was bit bye the bug. Did some research and got an order into Mountain Electronics. I ordered a dedomed Convoy C8, 8 7135, and a blue Convoy S2+ T6 3b bulb and 6 7135âs. Also got 2 Panasonic NCR18650B 3400mAh, and a charger/monitor w/led display. All for $86.
How did I do? I prolly wonât get to heavy into modding it out, but want a good starting point. Maybe my next one will be a green S2+ body and build from there. What will I get out of putting an AR lens in? Whatâs this about modding the springs, Iâll be around, nice meeting you folks
Welcome friend! You are in good company here. At least as far as being among friendly people who share your madness. In my opinion you made some good start-up choices. Donât be afraid to talk to Richard at Mountain Electronics and ask him for advice. Great guy. Very knowledgeable and very helpful. That de-domed C8 should be a really nice thrower. Add a spring bypass and a different driver and the lumens (and throw) just get better with each step. Others will be able to offer more detailed advice on modding. My take on the AR lens is donât put too much into that until you get heavier into it but opinions vary. I have AR lenses in most of my lights now. Itâs not a night and day difference but if youâre going for numbers (lumens) there is a difference and all AR lenses are not created the same. With high quality AR coated lenses (check out UCL lenses) you may see a 5% increase in OTF lumens. I have a few that you have to look at just the right angle to see that there is a lens there at all. Thatâs what youâre shooting for. Ultimate light transmittance. Dale (DB Custom) has a link or two about the spring bypass mod. Others can step in here and direct you better than I can but if you can use a soldering iron a spring bypass seems one of the simplest ways to increase output.
I had to look at that this thread again and i was shocked that my sand colored s2+ wish is getting reality - maybe 
with a black clip and a black button. Ok it seems i have to buy another convoy. I just wanted to order a convoy BD03 which gets kind of little attention i think.
That sand color is a bit to gold, more natural and super matte would be awesome. Maybe even more into bright olive.

It just might. I donât have any promises yet but I had to admit once I saw similar color combinations I really like the idea. Now that the clip ended up black weâre halfway there already. I agree that the Roche color is more gold than the concept we are aiming for here. I like that one too but Iâm hoping for a little more âearthyâ with no mettalic for this one.

Now I need to make room for a desert sand S2+ or two, the new L2 when available and prolly a few more C8s just to keep things balanced.

It fitâs perfectly on the S2, S2+ and the M1. Also fits the C8 though not as practical. Iâll add pictures and update the OP later. Later all!
Clip looks great, hope it doesnât have too much play on A6. And itâs really cheap, too!

LOL⌠Somehow I knew that wouldnât take long. I wasnât even going to post that picture and then Simon puts it right on his site! Itâs a sample of a pink variation that came from some color testing. I was as surprised as you are. I have no idea if it will see production or if there would even be enough demand. I can tell you that my 7 year old daughter was watching when I was showing my son the clip and her eyes lit up at the pink one. My son has been eagerly awaiting the clip as he watched me go through the entire progression of the clip design. I should have some on the way. Iâm eager to be able to report my first hand opinion of the clip. Not sure what the A6 comment was about though. Donât get me wrong Iâd be happy if it fits the A6, but this is designed for Convoy lights so if it does itâs just a bonus.
