Portable Charging Devices

I bought a couple of cheap portable charges off eBay. Not too bad, but none lasted long enough to charge my Kindle without recharging. Not really a surprise considering the less than 3,000mAh.
What are your experiences with these devices and brands?
Thanks,
Jerry

Buy (real) Xiaomi and be happy with it

Link? Thanks, Jerry

Thanks, L4M4,
I ordered this one.

Thanks, again, Jerry

Well too late for me to say, buy just the casing and electronics part and use 18650 cells.
YThis is what I have done, feels very good to be able to charge the phone with the cell in the torch if needed.

Great choice Jerry. The Xiaomi comes with quality name brand cells and reliable quality electronics. Just the cells alone would cost you more than the entire power bank so its a heck of a bargain. Google finds dozens of positive comments, reviews and tear-downs.

I have myself and have bought for presents many XiaoMi power banks, and they are really great stuff. You won’t be disappointed.

You still have to understand boost circuits are incredibly inefficient…even though any charger “claims” a certain mAh rating…expect not only the actual rating to be considerably lower (best is 80% worst is maybe 20-25) then the inefficiencies of the boost converter makes that number even lower in the range of 40-60 efficient…[of course these are just numbers pulled out of my butt…but most know that these chargers are NOWHERE near the same output as input in mAh rating.

With that said…the XIAOMI are usually the ones that use the best batteries and have the highest boost converters for efficiency so they end up being the best of the best

I have heard good things about them…so it should serve you well

agreed

I think I agree with Xiaomi election. the right choice

This interested me, but I did not see where you could purchase just the casing and electronics. Do you have a link? Thanks

I picked up an Anker 20100 on amazon for $29 with a code from slickdeals… beyond that it seems like a lot of work….
