budget yuji high cri 5mm leds confirmed

leds
edit 100 lot 100 $2.28
these are nice.i figured i have blown $12 on junk with no redeeming qualities before so why not.
surprise!
better color rendering than any 5mm i have seen.
they are rated 8000-10000 mcd and seem about 30 deg beamwidth.
around 4500k.
$12.79/1000 shipped.
the 100 lot shows same part number.
ignore the color of the lighted one in the auction thats NOT what these look like.
no angry blue no beam artifacts.
edit.a photo guy i service stuff for has lights that i put in yuji leds and the ones mentioned here.i didnt notice any difference by eye.too bad his panels needed all 100 he bought as i would have liked to compare spd.
he stated that the color rendering charts look identical under these.
so these really are sleepers!

Can I get ten for 15 cents from you ?

i wont be back till monday but if you stop by i will set you up.

If you are up for shipping some, let me know…

too many things on my plate right now.
btw these are also sold in a 500 lot.

sub

I know this is a very ignorant question, but what do/can you use these for?

anything using 5mm white leds that you want improved color rendering.
btw these seem to be doing fine.i built 2 9 ledcheapies with 8 of these and a 1.5 ohm in the center.fresh 18500 runs at 320ma and settles to 250ma after a few hours.
i ran it all night and put in a fresh cell.identical output to the unused control.
so they are not aging early.

Happy to take up to 20 of these off your hands at any reasonable price when you’re ready.

Phil

like i stated earlier i have a lot going on now.
doesnt preclude me setting you up its one of those things that would have to be low priority.
seller does offer a 500 pack.
seems though that postage would kill the deal on small qty.
maybe another member has the setup to handle a deal like this properly.
Boaz is local so no big deal to hand him a baggie when he stops by…

Yeah sorry i was just making a joke …And needed a reason to stop by and see my friend snake bit…
i assume these are better color / tint but not really anything close to the high cri 5 mm leds like djozz was playing with

reminds me of the 70’s !!!

:stuck_out_tongue: :Sp :santa: 0:)

ROFLOL!

would have to test side by side to tell.
the yuji were good by all reports but the shipping killed the deal.
would be nice if that is what these are!the part number comes up only to this auction.

direct drive on an 18650 gets 110ma and no turning blue or dimming.
i simply formed the leds to plug into a converted versapak.
little or no heatsinking is offered by this setup.
no visible degradation after 8 hours.
these are sleepers!

well i now know what these are.
look at sellers other auctions.looks like they build photographic lights with these.
i installed 2000 of these in custom light strips in a friends home.not a single dud and very consistent in tint and brightness.
a quality product.what a nice surprise.
a huge upgrade from the early 5mm the strips were built with.

Exactly what I was looking for.
I have those cheap camera-lights with the nice tint in my wish-list since months - but I want the bare LEDs. only for custom projects.
500 for 8.79 - I guess I need 500 more LEDs

Interesting that they can be DD’d like that. Have to try it and measure Vf at that current. Must have a steep curve.

I did put a set in my favorite magnified visor. Nice smooth beam pattern and I agree tint is around 4500. CRI is decent. Not sure I would call it high CRI, but I’m not a good judge of that. Definitely, better CRI than any other 5mm I have ever used. Output was down a bit from the stock cold tinted LED’s in my favorite visor, but still quite usable. Expected that. I guess I’ll pull the resistors and let the 3S2P AAA’s drive these emitters direct. I’m using Ni-Mh’s, so voltage should be similar to a typical 18650.

Thanks for the alert. Heck of a deal and the price has dropped to under $7/500.

yes these seem to have a higher vf.they even do good in a super cheap dollar tree 3 led dd.
the - leads fold over the board edge giving a path to the thin tube.dd with a cheap 18500 gives output like many older luxeon lights at less current.
all in a package thats disposable/loanable.
as for cri its hard to determine that without proper test equipment.and eyeballs are too different.

Ebay store from OP can’t accept payment, so I have messaged seller and he sent me paypal invoice directly to email. Not exactly by ebay’s book, but I don’t have any doubts since invoice was for service, covered by paypal protection. Now the waiting starts, I just hope these can replace horrible blue led in Nitecore Tube.
