.50 BMG isn't banned in Cali, only 50 BMG rifles so in a stupid twist Semi auto M2 belt fed guns are legal but single shot rifles aren't. NFA weapons (machine guns, AOWs like shotguns that never had stocks with barrels under 18 in. in length (which are actually legal in California) guns with bores above .50 if not otherwise exempt, "sawed off shotguns" and silencers) can be stored in the home like any other gun.
If you want to go really big bore without the whole DD laws look up "12 ga from hell" it is about a guy who has built up some .72 in barreled "shotguns" and even bigger or you can look in to muzzle loading cannons, you can go as big as you want legally, people build bowling ball cannons from high pressure cylinders all the time.
Read his post on GUNCO. He does some wild stuff taking the Shotgun exemption to the limit. There some very talented and good guys on Gunco. One of the cool effects of the bowling ball mortars is the holes in ball make a whistling projectile.
No new hardware here. The gun laws just keeps on getting more ridiculous every week. You (well, at least the U.S based members) would not believe the shit they'll put us though just to buy another pistol. And that crazy guy who shot kids in Norway didn't help at all. In here it seems like we - the law-abiding Finnish sports shooters - were responsible for that crap. Or at leasts that's how the left-wing media brings it up.
Anyway, more nicer events. I finally got to B ranking in local IPSC production division. Lot of work to be done to get to A, let alone Master, but we're on a right track anyway. I just wanted to show you my competition gear.
- Beretta 92 Stock
- 7 Meg-gar magazines, 3 of them 17 rounders (the ones with colored base plate) and 4 15 rounders. Now that only 15 rounds are allowed per magazined in Production, all my mags are competitive.
- Sickinger Speed Machine quick-draw holster
- CR Speed belt
- 3 Safariland 771 adjustable mag holders. I always take the first mag from my pocket, so depending if the stage starts chamber empty or loaded I can take 60 or 61 rounds to a stage. So far it has been enough. Rules limit the highest minimum shot count to 32.
- Peltor SportTac II active ear protectors. I actually won these from a lottery in one less formal shooting competition. Very good protection, the active part is less than impressive.
The go-to guns in this division in Finland and I suppose whole Europe are Glock 17 and CZ 75 Shadow. I like shooting with a more rare gun and I don't feel like giving any advantage. The 92 Stock is just pure goodness that has taken a form of a gun. And finally, I never go to a competition without my dedicated race shirt. The Desert Eagle is indeed .50 AE. It's more of a range toy than a serious gun. I think I may have put about 40 rounds through it since I acquired it two years ago. I do, however, have reloading dies, brass, and 300 gr. Speer gold dot bullets just waiting to be assembled...one of my many pending projects...

Seeing these 1911's makes my heart sing. All guns make me smile but 1911's make giddy. John M Browning sits (in a smaller chair of course) next to Jesus in my book.

I had a Mini 14 Bull-pup back in the day and it had horrible trigger pull, was not accurate at all and would blow you eardrum out when you shot it because it ejected shells so close to your ears. The FN supposedly has corrected all of these shortcomings.
It's the only Fs2000 that shoots .22lr instead of .223 . That's because there're the Ruger 10/22 under the hood.
You could say the ruger 10/22 is a budget gun. You could get a brand new one here at the store for less than 200 bucks. Plus it shoots .22lr that's really budget there. Ammo prices had been going up ridiculously the last few year, it cost so much to shoot my AR that I have to limit myself to only go to the range once a month.
I bet some of the Call of Duty fan boys would recognize the fs2000 right away :)
Look at the clip on the FS2000 you posted then go to the FN link I posted and look at the clip on the real FS2000 and I would say the one you posted is not a .223 .
Seriously doubt it with this 22lr version.
