Romisen RC-A8 -- Beautiful, Unusul and Well Made

It is a big light for that size cell too.

Odd but kinda sexy

I line that little monolith too

I used the Mono-lith for quite a few years backpacking. When I looked, there was no LED conversion available. It is an incandescent reflector zoomie.

I think what I paid is a reduced price for lights with out of date LEDs, so a group buy price would probably be higher. But if others see the beauty of it, Romisen might be able to dig up the old drawings and make some updated ones.

I corrected the title.

I ordered a Romisen RC-A6 from goodluckbuy.com:
刘清清|西南交大刘清清|江西新余刘清清|华信通闹事员工刘清清|刘清清人品|刘清清简历.
Again, it is also listed here:

This is a 2 x AAA light that looks very similar to the RC-A8. Again, it is out of stock at the larger stores.

Added: both are also available here: http://www.antelife.com/rc-a6-cree-led-q2-aaa-flashlight-black-color.html.

This flashlight is pretty high on the list of lights that I would never loan to anybody except for my girlfriend.

This shows that it is not the manufacturers’ fault that flashlight shapes are so simple minded. These shapes have been available, while people have preferred SK-68s and Sure Fires.

Romisen makes good lights. Seven or eight years ago they were one of the top budget brand flashlights. They have kind of been left behind the last several years.

Yeah, I picked up 3 different Romisen focusing flashlights from shiningbeam.com a few years back. They were pretty good bang-for-the buck lights for the $15-20 price range. They seem to have disappeared from the flashlight world since then.

I know what you mean, but I’m not sure any of the brands were, or are, real brands, with real differences.

I remember a few years ago when SanRenMu knives became popular on BLF.

SanRenMu was described as the "Romisen of the knife world."

That was a real compliment back then.

Yeah, it's old. These are from my 2008 'office' collection. All are single AA lights except the Romisen RC-A8.

A black one! I don’t have a black one yet.

I was in on the dual wavelength UV Romisen group buy and was one of those who didn’t get one. The light with a filter that I ended up with probably is a better light, but the stainless with a dragon on it was very pretty. As I remember, those didn’t say Romisen on them, because they were made by a shop that made lights for sale under other brand names. It was just a BLF.

I’d like to see a nice comparison picture with the AAA version.

I do have one of those lights. You’re right that it does not say Romisen on it anywhere, unless its these Chinese characters on the head…

…although I suspect those are more likely to be some version of “Hot” or “Caution” or something similar. I do think it was made by Romisen though, as I recall. I’ve never disassembled it so I have no idea if the boards are labelled in any way.

It said “dual light source”.

Well that’s cool. Never would have guess that, even though it is appropriate for the light. Thanks!

New candidate for ugliest light of the year award!

I had the A6 too for all of 2 weeks, somehow the elongated body and the I/O button ruined the sensual lines of the original. It reminded me of a squid with it’s eye
The black has a satin finish, and very nice to hold, pencil style at it’s neck. I remember of all my flashlights, this the girls loved
