First GearBest purchase - update - package delivered

It’s on the slow boat from China. Keep Calm

Have you tried 17track.net? if it doesn’t show anything, the package never left GB warehouse.

Your case seems extreme, but the agony of waiting is just part of the game…

I’d question why they chose DHL, but it’s still cheaper than hiring one of your buds to fly over and pick it up for you.

Not shilling for any vendor, but it looks like GB did reasonably well on their end, getting your magic Yellow Envelope in the mail reasonably quickly. You didn’t mention when it was ordered, but it went from the village where it was manufactured to GB’s clearinghouse into the Yellow Envelope & off to DHL, and DHL even updated your Tracking 5 days later, and then stopped.

Have you contacted DHL for the last known whereabouts?

Hard to understand why GearBest is in the title, not DHL…

17track says:

“Item is not found at this moment, If necessary, please verify with the package sender and check back later.

Maybe your number belongs to:

Germany
DHL (Asia) eCommerce
Germany
DHL (US) eComm”

If it’s true that never shipped my best choice might be to make a paypal claim. The item is out of stock now.

GearBest is on the title because after tracking updates ceased I did some searching and came across a number of cases where updates stopped, tracking info was deleteed, and it was determined that the package was not actually shipped and status had actually meant the item was supposedly enroute to DHL for shipping. I had hoped it was just slow until DHL deleted the tracking info possibly indicating it had never actually been received by the shipper.

I called DHL and was informed that the number was pulled from the tracking system because the item was never received and I should contact the vendor.

Contact May here at BLF via PM…user name gearbest .

Re: Contact May

As I stated, I did that. That was two days ago. That individual forwarded my message to customer service but I have not received a reply from gearbest customer service and only a cc of the message to customer service from the rep on the forum (user gearbest).

There are two gearbest reps here on BLF…I think, lol. I think the other user is csgearbest. I would just make sure that it was sent to the one I listed above.

Re-reading May’s reply to me, CSgearbest was the recipient on the forum. I did not realize that was a forum user too and assumed it was a copy of a message to gearbest customer service. I have commented about the situation in a ticket via gearbest site, cancelled the order, and requested a refund to paypal.

Dang... I've never had DHL take more than 3 days To deliver. Sounds like something got messed up between creating the label and sending it out to the DHL carrier. Maybe due to Christmas craziness.

I'd probably send another message to the PM conversation, and make a paypal claim in 1-2 days.

In other news, I too bought a lottery ticket, but alas, it wasn’t the one I was hoping for (grin)

Seriously — sorry your first experience was disappointing, but don’t feel alone or unusually set upon.

This is the China flashlight lottery experience.

I’m trying to find something positive to focus on and the best I can come up with is the fact I was on hold for about ten seconds after calling DHL. I had read about long waits but that was not the case for me.

I have 6 protected ncr18650b that have updated since end of December. They got to show and stopped updating. The closed my last ticket order saying wait until Feb something.

Or like fishing, isn’t caught till in the ice box.

Like the kind of fishing where you throw the salad, baked potato and wine in the lake, then begin checking the cooler every day to see if your fish has showed up yet… :expressionless:

That only works in dating women! 8)

I received replies from gearbest customer service stating the package was shipped on Dec. 9th and the expected shipping time given was 17 to 25 days. It has been 34 days since that date. It looks like I just have to wait and if it hasn’t arrived after three months they’ll consider it lost.

That is just wrong. DHL only takes a few days, not 17 to 25 days. They just want to prolong the issue, to keep their money, without having to give it back as a refund. One thing I know about these low price sellers is that they lie, cheat and generally cannot be trusted about much of anything. Gearbest in particular, is known for selling items there is no stock for and they do not carry any stock themselves. They are just a reseller and let the drop shippers move the stuff, which means stock is never updated and they don’t have a clue if they actually have what they are selling. They are just not trustworthy.

DHL waybill is a series of ten digit numbers. If your tracking is not in that format, it will probably not show up in their system.
