Thanks djozz. Life just sometimes gets in the way of fun. I’m back, maybe not as much as I was before, but back all the same. I have several lights I need to build and review. I asked for this light from Uniquefire 8 months ago. Nice to see they are finally listening.
That will happen to me too at some point. I just hope that there will always remain some spare time for hobbying, at whatever pace. :-)
74 mm is the head diameter, not the lens size, correct? How does this compare to the 1504? Just can't find an accurate measurement posted here on BLF - GearBest says 7 cm for head diameter, but who knows how accurate that is.
Alibaba says for the 1504 a 67 mm lens, 71 mm head diameter, so this light's 74 mm number is the biggest. Is this the biggest convex zoomie then, at least reasonably priced one?

Alibaba site shows about 16 different flavors of the 1508 and the head sizes are all mixed up. The big head, shows 74mm and 75mm, in different descriptions. I don't think they have a clue as usual. I contacted Shenzhen last night and got a response from "Ruby" about shipping me a sample for review. I will probably go ahead and get one with all the heads, the extension and an extra pill and do a video review of it, if the shipping is reasonable. Probably at least 2 weeks or longer from now, if it happens.
All true O-L. We won't really know for sure til we get it, but I was also trying to find our specs (BLF posted) on the 1504. I got two 1504's @home though, @work now.
I wish for a DJozz “bandsaw view” of the focusing mechanism, to understand how it works, but I’m not ready to fund that operation.

I have put your pictures in first post. Maybe you could continue with review of this flashlight?
I see it has reverse clicky switch, thin orings( head moving), it should also have poor flood mode(short thread walk) comparing to their 15.. brothers. But all that can be regulated with modding(like raising pill, thicker orings etc.)
Please report results with modded XPG2 :)
Edit: One more crazy idea for Uniquefire would be to make reflector head addons for this light. It is doable but probably with different pill style.
I just wonder why Dereelight does not sew them for this? :) With this model they will wipe them off the face of the earth.
