Review: Crelant 7G5 from intl-outdoor [pics heavy, outdoor beamshots updated!]

Really looking forward to some beamshots..! So Coolpert, you reckon this is worth the $78 then..? :D

Looks good. Lets see if it can outthrow the DBS XR-E aspheric in the real world at a 400m target. (better comparison than a lux meter)

It's a great thrower, but there is poor chance it can beat XR-E with apheric. Tiablo apheric or DBS aspheric were in the 70K-80K lux/1m range (with R2 bin). What I'm sure, is that the beam from 7G5 is much more useful :).

As for outdoor beamshots, I'll try to make them tommorow evening. But no promise... Too many stuff on my head, lately.

Well I am counting on you buddy. This will help me make up my mind if I want this light over the Sunwayman T40CS. I'm still leaning toward getting the Sunwayman anyway because it looks cool to me. And it's got a big wide reflctor on it.

I think the 7G5's reflector is bigger and deeper.

Anyway, Sunwayman T40CS is tough to beat.

The lux readings from the Crelant are phenomenal, yet no interest. Probably because it's neither a cheap or an expensive thrower.

Just received catapult V3

Excellent quality, flawless.....

Here are some photos, sorry for bad quality as i took them with my cell phone

One thing about both Catapult V3 and 7G5 is that they are T-7075, not sure if that gives additional strength in real life.

Man, I am jealous. I really "need" a V3. Quite simply; it seems like it's just a superb flashlight and it's what a high-end/high performance light should look like.

ohhhthehumanityFoy

I agree. I would love to own one but feel they are a little steep on the price. Now $100 and it would probably be mine soon.

I see it's made from 7075 aluminum, so what else has been upgraded over the 7G3?

Because it's still being sold for $75 from SBFlashlights. I guess that was a good deal until the 7G5 was listed for $78 from intl-outdoor :P

They are different Flashlights.

Different head, more fins. 3 vs 4

XM-L T6 vs XM-L U2

Broader working voltages, or let's say different working voltages 2.8 - 9 V to 3.7 -16V

Most probably the reflector is bigger.

Different clicky, momentary on vs memory ....

7G3 can be used with one 18650,

7G5 can be used with 2 x 18500 or 2 18650 or 3xcr123A or the rest of the options

An so on........

Great! Thanks for the info.

Still, I would think they're discontinuing the 7G3 since it's been discounted for a while now. I know it definitely used to be sold for more than $75 in the USA.

i prefer v3 due to it's design and finishing wise. V3 body is made from thick aluminium (this could be the thickest flashlight body that i have so far)

It's like comparing a Lexus with Merc... :)

I thought Andy can do it at that price...just got a quote from him yesterday.

Pls don't check out those prices listed at CPF/CPFM. Most are pretty high and some are daylight robbery at 30% higher even after coupon discounts (esp Fenix). But pls don't tell them that i said it, coz they will say customer support lah....service, courtesy lah. Sealed

For me just send it out within 2 days, i receive it in due time (6-12 working days for HK - SIN), can return if there are issues......competitive price (no need to be absolutely cheapest quote), answer emails and don't have to be perfect English. A-OK! And of coz don't mess up my order....so far all my stuff don't DOA.

Well I will find out.

Please do report back.

So from the info that we have thus far, which would you guys reckon between the Sunwayman T40CS and this light throws better...? I'm itching to buy a thrower just need to decide which one.

Sorry, made a mistake, that's for the scorpion v2.

I think this one.

Itching is not good....

True, but have you found any good worthwhile remedies...? :D
