Zenbaas, Sunwayman TC40S is a hair better than Cat V2 XM-L (according to selfbuilt's tests). In my tests, Crelant 7G5 beat the Cat V2 XM-L by a good margin, so when it comes to pure specs and results on paper, it's better thrower.
However, difference between 50K lux/1m and 60K lux/1m is not that substantial in real use. If you are unable to see something, shining the 50K light, you probably won't see it with 60K light either. So, whichever light you choose, you will have a very good thrower. Each light has is own strenghts and weak points. I guess, more universal would be TC40S. It's made by a reputable company and built quality is outstanding (if it's the same as other Sunwayman products). Yet, it's unmodable and there's poor chance, user can do something to tweak (or repair) it by himself. Crelant 7G5 is like a heavy tuned car. Sure, it's impressive... hard driven LED, extreme deep reflector, throw like no other XM-L light. You have an access to all main parts. But the company is not well known, I guess the support or customer service is non-existent, etc. If you have lots of other lights (like me), 7G5 is like a cherry on the top of whole collection. It's like supercar built by some fanatics. If it has to be your only "daily driver" thrower, I would buy something more trusty and known.
By the way... I'm going to visit my friend right now. On the way back, I'll try to do some beamshots. However, nights are foggy lately, so I'm not sure if they come off good.
Oh... and above there was mentioned about 7075 alloy. Yes, it's more heavy-duty alloy. Tensile strenght is bigger than in 6061 T6. But 7075 has worse thermal conductivity, so it's a tradoff.

Having looked at selfbuilt’s beam comparison pics between the T40CS and the catapult I prefer the beam profile of the catapult as it appears to have more usable spill compared to the sunwayman. That’s also why I’m so curious to see the crelant in action. The pics of the light on intl outdoors looks promising. I hear what you have to say about warranty etc on the sunwayman versus the crelant but the Flashlights both look very well constructed so I don’t foresee any problems. The T40CS is also quite a bit more pricey than the crelant last time I checked.
I wonder how the hotspots differ between these lights. Interesting times

There was no fog... but it was windy and cold. I was frozen to the marrow...
Hotspot of Catapult is the same as hotspot from Crelant, when considering size. But the second one is more intense.

Very nice indeed…! I really like the beam profile of the catapult and the crelant has a very similar beam profile which is great. I don’t like the darker rings or dark spots on the sunwayman. The hotspot on the crelant looks brighter than the catapult as well.

Been meaning to ask, how usable is the low mode...? What would you estimate it at...? (lumen wise)
It's about 200-250 lumens. How usable is it ? ...It depends. To preserve battery juice - it's quite usable, however when shining on far object, I prefer high mode
Generally, for close distances, I use other flashlights. Throwers are for throw... the brighter, the better. For me, low mode is only for emergencies - when batteries are low or I defenitely don't want more light. But that is rarity.
Different situation is, when you want such flashlight to be floody or be able work on close distances. Then you can buy Olight SR50 diffuser (should fit) or remove the head with the reflector and use the flashlight as a candle. In this case, you get these 200-250lm of pure flood light with over 120 degrees of spread. But again, it's a matter of need and preference. If you don't have any other smaller light with you, low mode of 7G5 is usable.
Frankly 200-250 lumens is quite bright IMHO although maybe not quite 800 lumens bright :D I was just thinking in case this was the only light you had with you how useful it would be when you needed to conserve battery power. The fact that it can tailstand is also quite nifty and something that some of the other throwers can't. The diffuser is a great idea though. You reckon the SR50 diffuser will fit...?
