What was your best flashlight of 2015

I’d vote the dual UV emitter flashlight

My BLF X6 with the BLF FET+1 driver. It destroys anything in its price/size range powered by a 30Q or a HG2.

The coolest lights I received are tied between the DQG spy and Quantum Cooyoo 10180 lights. Best buy was probably the nitecore EC11 from a GB on here.

2015 saw my first foray into the world of Convoy and Triples. Bitten by the triple-bug, I built three:

  1. Convoy S2, Nichia 219b triple @ 2.8A
  2. Convoy S3, XP-G2 triple, Qlite @ 3A
  3. Convoy S6, XP-L HI triple, FET DD @ Lots-o'-Light(tm)

Of the three, I find the XP-G2 triple to be my favorite, as it's a good compromise between very bright, and actually useable runtime levels.

Also, I finally purchased my own HS-802. I like the beam pattern of this light, and the good throw it offers, but never had one of my own. I replaced the factory emitter with an XP-E2 driven at the peak 2.2A and it's a great light. Very narrow and intense hotspot...

I’m loving my A6 as EDC! K40M as my go to for everything else

For me it was the Acebeam K60, for its impressive amount of light.

For EDC my modified TX25C2 with FET driver and XP-L HI, pocket thrower!

For usefulness the C22C that doubles as a headlight

My Olight S1-ti ! a gorgeous EDC light with a perfect finish, UI and neutral tint

I must concur about the triples:

I put together an RMM s6 triple @ 10+ amps

But then the quad triple, the meteor m43 with dedomed xpl’s came in the mail and even 2016 won’t best it

I can’t decide.

The M43 meteor is amazing for its size and it’s a factory light.

My custom 12x XP-L TN30 is like the M43 on steroids

My Tool AAA with a DD XP-G2 and FET driver gets used the most.

I will just go with all three.

BLF 348 AAA first and BLF A6 second. Third is the Olight M3XS-UT. Great but not for EDC.

coolest is cooyoo quantum in SS

best buy- Niteye er26-1000 lumens in a 4.5 inch light with good throw.

My best in 2015, The Olight S1 (no doubt of this!!!)

Thrunite TN4A would be mine mainly because its 4 AA so i can lend it to family and friends without worrying to much about them changing batts and because of its size hopefully they wont lose the thing in a coat pocket or something.

I received and Modded a Solarstorm SP03. Three dedomed emitters in big reflectors and space for 4 Samsung 30Q’s give big lumens, great throw, and long runtimes. I love it, it’s the perfect outdoors light.

If I have to pick a “best”, then it’s the Thrunite Archer 2A v2 NW. This model (specifically with the tiny XP-G2) works wonders for my applications.

For coolest, I have to pick the Olight S1. Too bad it’s easily my worst flashlight as well :person_facepalming:

Many versions/flavors
TIR done right
side switch
mode spacing
magnetic tail cap
tail stands
bright
SMALL/handy-versatile

BLF A6 would get my vote. TK's UI just rocks!

Lumintop tool AAA

Many worthy mentions this last year:

Olight s15R: ease of Charging (though, worryingly, did have an already quirky one burn its driver!, but not when charging)

Olight S1: Tiny Tiny Tiny and bright too on standard Li-Ion batteries.

Imalent SA04: AA batteries, variable light temperature and a groovy LCD Screen. Good Low Low, and a High High!

BLF X6: Nearly there, not quite up to expectation (low and high modes not as extreme as requested). Beatufil build and nice presentation box (when not labelled / taped over)

Eagle Eye X6R: Beautifully built and packaged (probably a Convoy Supplier/Manufacturer), though, again, a slight disappointment, the USB charging port did come off the board inside one!

Eagle Eye X6Hi: XP-L Hi with warmer tones available, lovely feel and Build Quality, good thrower for its size. Delivered in a BOX! with a presentation box inside

Nitecore MH20 NW: a Pocket Rocket, nice fit and finish. Sturdy USB charging socket.

Convoy S2+: Hosts and lights, especially in the grey/red/blue/green colours, and of course the 18350 coloured tubes too were a particular highlight for me.

And this years worthy winner (for the non-coding non-electronic Wizz-Kid Muggles among us)

BLF A6: An amazing EDC in Shorty format, and impressive in 18650.
LOVED the Bare Aluminium Option, especially in 18350 Shorty format, have 2 on me at all times on keys etc. Driver delivers 98% of promised low and high modes, and a real treat on a Budget.

I’ve probably missed a light or 2!

Cheers,
Splott-Light

I think my favorite flashlight of the year was my triple-XPL modded DQG Tiny III with FET driver and external heatsink. Very compact, great grip, incredibly bright.
