The smallest-brightest flashlight you have

N-light B3 / ITP / Maratac [ all AAA ]

The stand out is the N-light B3 - its superbly regulated , and is my go to AAA light .

I really think the beam profile of the ITP A3 is one of the best in it's class .

If you're into that sort of thing .

What about the Tank007 TK-703?

Based on what you guys think, I'm going to order the ITP A3. I just have to find the best price.. Edit, maybe the A1???

The Tank E09 looks it could be in the running soon. It seems it handles 10440's too.

However the new Xtar WK21 looks like it may dwarf everything.

For under $20, the ITP A3 with 10440 is pretty hard to beat size/output/price wise.

You'll love it Glen. http://www.shiningbeam.com has some stock left.

I got mine from him. Good seller and stands behind his stuff.

I have the 1-mode which is even smaller than the multimoded one.

I actually ordered one from them last week. I like my iTP A1 but I wanted an A3 because it's even smaller. And the fact that it uses AAA batteries which is a big advantage if you are going to travel with the light. I plan on using the A1 as my EDC at home and then taking the A3 as my EDC when I travel.

Also , the A3 clip can be reversed and clipped to the bill of a hat for a dandy headlamp .

I have a modded solitaire, 1c tint xpg direct drive off of 10440. Pulls 1.7 amps then settles to 1.55 or so. Just a wow light as it gets hot fast. Also have a single rcr123 that pulls 3.4 amps with an xml. Can actually use this for a little while before it gets hot. Has a great beam profile to, more throw than what you would think.

The ITP A3 is one of those lights that everyone should own. Pretty impressive on alkaline & Nimh's but last week I jumped it up to a 10440 and really like it.

Mine is the Stainless "Upgraded" version

My romisen Rc-G2 modded with an xml. draws near 3A on a 14500 :S yikes. but its even brighter than my xeno E03 xml on 14500. a fun short-use pocket rocket.

Sipik 1AA. I loved the f&8k out of that little light...and I sold it last week.

Currently... This one

8 cm long, pushes out 500-600 lumens... ...for about 15 minutes... if you could keep it on for that long... but you can't... it would caught on fire... ...about 3 mins absolutely max on high... ...but still fun light to have... ...not so much to use...

I think it would have to be my Mini x 123 too.

HID -

I remember that light - very cool but not something to have in one's pants (pocket) for long while turned on. (the light, I mean)

mesofunnyFoy

My Quark Minix123 as well. I use a RCR123 battery, so it overdrives the light about 40%. Cuz more lumens = better! ;-)

Bone stock would be Xeno E03 XM-L, it draws nearly 2.4A with 14500 IMRs. With choice of 3C neutral white tint and warm white 4B. 30 bucks shipped...what's there not to like. (well ok, on dim lowest mode it is still like 100 lumens, but who cares)

Up the ante a bit for length and diameter and it would be Zebralight SC600, full 3 amps discharge to the XM-L.

I just got a SC600 and I have the Xeno and all I can say is WOW....I ask myself why did I wait so long to buy the ZL...

I have had bad luck with the 10440; out of 4 (2 unprotected; 2 protected) the three have gone bad. The only protected still working is in TrustFire F23 Stainless light which I usually run in medium. Trustfire 701 ate all my 10440. Now I am content with DQG and the S1 from Rick_CQN for my AAA lights and I run Eneloop or primary lithium in them.

Hi,

I'm looking to pick up a small light for my wife and am considering the Olight i3, the Tank007-E09 and the Brinyte PD03A.

The Olight seems the obvious choice in that it's an updated iTP A3 which gets recommended many times on here, but the Tank and the Brinyte also seem to get some good shouts, plus they're a little cheaper and some suggest a little brighter. Basically I want the smallest, brightest, reliable light up to $21 shipped (the price of the Olight); which of these three would anyone recommend, or are there others that I'm missing?

I should mention that I'll be running it on NiMH/Eneloop AAAs.

Thanks,

Chris
