Groupbuy for UNI-T UT210e clamp meter for tailcap current readings

lol mine just shipped as well. Now I can only hope there isn’t a huge backlog at the shipping office so it makes it out of China before everything shuts down. Either way, I’m pleased with BG. Thanks again for organizing this, freeme.

“Shipping e-mail” received about two hours and a half.

+1

Thanks!

Mine got shipped as well today.

No more blowing up DMM’s! Nice groupbuy, thanks!

Received mine today, very nice meter with all the functions.

I just got the email that it has shipped! Pretty excited it got out of there before the new year shut down.

I don’t want to rain on your parade, but I wouldn’t start dancing yet. Shipped just means it left Banggood. It still has 3-5 more stops in China before you are home free.

For instance my tracking number has had 8 updates since it shipped 5 days ago. As far as I can tell, it’s still in China. It hasn’t updated in a while though, so I’m hoping that means it’s either on a boat or plane or sitting in customs in Chicago.

Can I still get in on the UNI-T UT210e clamp meter buy?? I am confused about where to go to buy? Thanks.

My Uni-T is here, came pretty quick… 2 weeks from order date.

Neat small clamp meter. Seems to stabilize faster than my Mastech. You have to punch the top button to shift to DC, then the middle button to zero, and you’re up and running.

Does it hold a steady zero on DC?

Pretty much, yeah. Might go off a hundredth but if it doesn’t go back a simple press of the zero button solves it. With my Mastech, a second press of the zero puts it back where it started, usually some .34 off or so. Then you have to press it once again to zero out. So this Uni-T is simpler in that respect.

The jaws are pretty small, not really a big deal running a 12 ga wire loop through but I’m used the much larger and wider opening Mastech. Not a biggie, and the switch rotates opposite of the Mastech, again just insignificant differences that take a bit of getting used to.

Neat little zippered bag has a “lid” that zips open, leads with probes are stored in a pocket inside that lid, works pretty nice, cleverly done and useful.

Thanks Dale.

I've got the bigger UT208 and it wonders slightly hence the question.

Does the smaller size seem any better for shoving it into tight confines?

I’m on the fence, seems like I need a couple of these. I’ve wanted an AC/DC clamp meter for some time.

Conventionally The smallest jaws are direct expression of the current capacity of a clamp. This is more a precision clamp so the maximum current measurable is “low” compared to others (200A) but on the other side it’s resolution goes as low as 1mA….hence why.

More current take fatter cables so bigger jaws… Even if obviously you won’t ever clamp a cable as big the jaw

Wight, I’d say go for it. These cost half as much as my Mastech and are just as capable, even more so in some ways. Dinner for 2 at a nice place, not an exorbitant place. Or a sweet AC/DC clamp meter for a few years or more.

Can I get the code if this is still active?

I was wondering if anyone could post a few pics (or a video) on how they measure tailcap current with this. I’m having trouble envisioning what a wire loop through is, and the types of wires one needs to use. I’m interested in this meter, but I want to be sure I understand how it’s done.

Thanks, Freeme and BangGood, for a great deal!

Thanks, Freeme and BangGood, for working out a great deal! And thanks to 1dash1 for lending me the template  .

First results, compared wit my very old DMM (well, it’s digital). I replaced the tailcap with 8 inch of (single core copper) installation-wire, 1,7 mm (0,067 inch) diameter, that I bent in a U-shape and clamped the meter around one end.

Convoy S2+ with Intl.Outdoor UV-led and 3*7135 - DMM: 0.95A - UNI-T: 0.99A
Convoy S2 with XM-L2 4C dedomed and 8*7135 - DMM: 2.74A - UNI-T: 2.75A
BLF 6A SE with XP-L 1A dedomed FET + 1*7135 - DMM: 4.5-ish - UNI-T: 5.09A

EDIT: the next morning I ran the BLF 6A SE again with a fresh charged 30Q: 5.77A

I know it really hasn’t been that long since I ordered (by China shipping standards) but I’m going crazy waiting for mine.

Got mine. Works fine!
Are the batteries missing for anyone else? I wouldn’t even notice, but the manual explicitly states “please check that accessories are not missing or damaged: 1.5V AAA battery - 2 pcs”.
