My personal warranty experience with Gearbest

During the last year I bought several flashlights and other stuff from Gearbest. As long as you use NL or Sweden Post for shipping (registered), everything is fine. But if you have a problem or a warranty case, do not expect any help etc. from the customer service. Especially if the price is over USD 100.-. I got a DOA (dead on arrival) mobile phone and the offer from Gearbest was USD 35.- as a partial refund (what shall I do with a broken mobile phone?) or a resend (replacement) for another USD 109.-. The price for a new one is USD 155.-. So, I opened a buyer protected case at PayPal. I never will order something again from Gearbest, especially nothing over USD 20.-.

My experience is different. Had a few “lost” shipments but overall after approximately 50 orders only 1 was DOA - it was a glass screen protector for an iPad (cost 1 dollar and I didn’t get a refund on that one).

everything else was 100% working.

Sorry to hear that, but that is something that you should count on when buying from China overall not just from GB…
My experience with GB is great for 30+ orders, including 200$ phone, and 100$ tablet, 3 X flashlights over 150$,and so on.
Your topic is a little too offensive, and you should consider contacting CSgearbest, here on forum, they are always willing to help 8)

What makes the topic offensive?

I’ll try to not comment, I always bought from GB, BG and surely always will (because of prices, and because generally i have 80-90% of what i ordered)…I had several issues with wrong items and wrong cables and usually not resolved because the times they try to remedy they usually send wrong or defeceted items again, so I’m used to try but knowing that if the thing goes well it’s just by case.

Anyway, I’ll report briefly what happen the day before yesterday

When at first the Lii100 came out and was on sale i bought it as many of you, since i wanted to pay for tracking shipment i made the order a little bigger i bought 2x UR14500P and few E27 light (which were on offer but i not really needed them, i just bought them to sum up few dollars)

Well, everything was available and the order went smoothly as always, i selected tracking but the paypal bill was without 1.99$ (please note also that if i remeber correctly Gearbest adds 1.99$ mandatory for batteries) so i don’t know what happen. But since no matter what i wasn’t able to make the total show +1.99, and it was out of my control, i gave up and payed what they billed me. It was Dec 14, 2015

Then they shipped my order. Nice!
About 1 month and half later i receive a refund in my GB wallet (not via Paypal….) and was regarding the above mentioned order.
So I opened a ticket asking

and they replied

please note that 129884602 and 161996301 are the MAIN and ONLY reason i placed that order and i couldn’t care less about 136376203

What’s nice is that after a month and a half they informed me they shipped a order with 1 out of 3 items without even bother asking me before. I could well cancel the entire order considering there were no interesting items available.
Or they could ask me if i wanted a refund like they did. Or wait for the restocking of every item.
So i wrote them again

and again funnily enough they replied this

So yes we did, that’s it! Wait for your useless order…LOL

Yesterday I used the GB refund and order again the Lii100 and just one battery instead of 2 because they raised the prices and OTT box that was on sale (as they were those items at that time)
Hopefully they will ship them entirely and not play shady games again.

This is just to inform you guys that even this kind things can happen.

Don’t buy from GearBest! Is that enough?

Do we really need another gearbest hate thread?

@realtree. Doesnt Paypal cover the return shipping? I Think they do that if you are buying from Sweden

Kind regards

10+

i agreed on this too, but which main user experience thread we shoud use?

Maybe The admin’s one? Rating: Gearbest.com

Also please note that my post was made just to help other people knowing of the possibility that even if a order is shipped does not mean it contains all you have ordered and i simply took the first “rating” gearbest thread in the recent post page

No, it is not enough. It is not more offensive than a “buy from that good company” thread. Sure, we don’t need another gb hating thread, there’s plenty. But that does not mean we should ban them. People having problems should post them. If you had a group buy with GearBest that does not mean you should always defend them.

I was tempted to buy 4G mobile phone from GB but hell if i receive a broken phone surely i will get pissed |(

I would be careful where I buy phones. It is so easy to lose your personal information that way.

Generally speaking - a cell phone is an item that might as well need a warranty down the line. Had too many “small issues” that lead to a premature demise of a phone. sometimes the internal charger gave up, sometime it was an issue with the display. Independent of GB issues I wouldn’t spend too much on a phone without any warranty (or a warranty service that is hard to claim).

there are very good Android phones on the local US retail market (or elsewhere)

Do not misunderstand me - I also like the good prices etc. from GB and other china stores, but I will not order stuff anymore more than USD 100. -, or generally no electronic equipment like mobiles, tablets etc. If you have a problem forget about warranty etc.

And this is not a hate thread against GB - just my personal experience with them. As I wrote, I bought other stuff without any problems.

Update: I sent the mobile on my own costs back to GB. They never got it - even it was registered mail. But finally I got the money for the item and the shipping costs back from PayPal. Actually a quite poor customer service from GB. Lesson learned - never again GB.

Why are people still buying from GB?

I got a DOA Keeppower 18650 protected from GearBest. They offered me 2$ PayPal or 4$ wallet…
VERY disappointing!
Nevertheless, today I bought a flash sale Klarus G30 from them - so I feel refunded somehow

Can”t you just file a paypal claim & get a full refund that way ?
I hope so as I have just filed 2 paypal claims for items that have not arrived from GearBest.
