Blitzwolf BW-LT5 lantern

This one seems interesting:

Possibly a low-cost alternative to Fenix CL25R and other similar lanterns? I have a couple of Blitzwolf USB PSU:s/chargers which are quality-wise a step over the usual cheapo-china stuff so my expectations are high with this.

Preliminary comparison to CL25R based on info available at preorder-phase (subject to change)
Pros:
+price
+compact size
+not only usb-rechargeable, but also power bank function included

Cons:
-fixed battery (not replaceable)?
-neutral white not available?

Depending on user preferrences:
+/- Approx 180 degree lighting angle instead of 360?
+/- Two brightness modes of white light (instead of four with CL25R)

Looks interesting

Pretty cool. Will have to check it out.

ordered
Thanks for the hint!

I wanted the BlitzWolf BW-LT3, but I didnā€™t came to order that yet.
The BW-LT5 is even better, so good for me

Iā€™d be in for one if the battery is a 18650 removable. Very interesting.

use 12blitzwolf for 10% off!

Doesnā€™t work at this promo :stuck_out_tongue:

I like it!

Hi Martin,

Does it take a standard 18650?

Thank you,
-Chuck

most likely

But maybe not changeable, but weā€™ll see.

Interesting lantern. It needs to have a warmer tint for lantern use, (lower glare with warmer tints) needs the addition of a moonlight/nightlight mode, and get rid of the USB charging function. (single cell USB chargers of less than 4000mah are useless for more than one charge, then i may consider one.

I agree the need for a warmer tint, but this I did not undestand:

Huh? Better have and not need it, than need and not have it, right?

BG just announced my BW-LT5 as shipped, so maybe weā€™ll know more in a couple of weeksā€¦

u was referring to the USB output charging. (the micro-USB charging input is a good idea as long as the charger circuit is of a good quality & regulation to be safe.) single cell USB ā€œcharger sticksā€ barely give my large Samsung Note-3 a single charge, and woudl render the lantern useless if its cell is dead due to it being drained quickly by charging a modern high powered device.

Sure, but this isnā€™t made to be a powerbank first in line.

Itā€™s a little extra gadget for emergencys - and you will be very glad about a 70% charge if your smartphone is dead and you need to call help

Pretty cool little lantern.

I was looking into these few days ago. Seams bigger than it needs to be.

If 100 lumens is what you needā€¦

Itā€™s a power bank the gives off light. Low capacity but better than nothing. Changing out the battery would be my first goal, then not breaking it the second. It looks like a handy stocking stuffer but Christmas has already gone.

I just ordered one now.

And yes, the CL25R is the one I really would like to get, but budget is budgetā€¦ unless I get a good discount for it

//Tank

Seems to be equal to this ā€¦

EDIT: Well, looks like we paid more than necessary  http://www.banggood.com/Portable-IP68-Waterproof-LED-Tent-Camping-Night-Light-Outdoor-Travel-Power-Bank-Lantern-Lamp-p-997324.html
