Review request for HKJ [Chargers]

No, I have not been shopping in Lidl.

I sent LIDL a request to send a charger to HKJ as well. Can’t hurt to ask.

Judging from the negative responses I have been receiving from Charger OEMs in order to get a charger to HKJ for a review we may have to chip in and buy them. We could have it shipped to HKJ. We can’t expect HKJ to buy every charger we are interested in so he can review it for us. He has been very generous to us with his time and resources so we can get a Professional charger review. May it is time for us to step up? I’ve grown tired of wasting money buying chargers with the hope it is a good one. I’d like to improve my odds of getting a good one the first time around!!

I for one am interested in these two chargers at the moment:
http://www.amazon.com/Ansmann-5207123-Energy-16-Charger/dp/B00017LRCC
http://www.amazon.com/Tenergy-Auto-detect-protection-Intelligent-Battery/dp/B00ZYTX93M/ref=sr_1_1?s=photo&ie=UTF8&qid=1453823628&sr=8-1&keywords=tenergy+16+bay

Since the majority of the reviews on Amazon do not include thorough lab testing I don’t consider them to be completely helpful. In addition most of the reviews are posted after a relatively short time of ownership.

How could this be accomplished? If enough of us contribute the cost would be low. After the review HKJ could do whatever he wants with the chargers, i.e. keep them or donate to an RC Club, etc.

Thoughts??

Thanks,
Bill

Generally I do not mind buying cheap stuff (That is below $30) or something I am very interested in. But I do not buy very many expensive (Usual defined as above $100) items for test

US is problematic because shipping is often rather expensive and then I also have to pay a high custom fee (around $30).

The Ansmann Energy is eleven years old (from 2005), does cost $140 and delivers just 300mA/700mA (AAA / AA).
The newer Energy 16 plus (1001-0004) do deliver a little more current.

The Tenergy TN438 only delivers a charge current of 250mA/500mA (AAA / AA).
There are much faster solutions, like the Maha/PowerEx MH-C801D.

Hello HKJ,

GearBest is showing this model although it won’t ship until after 15 March 2016.

Opus BT-100
It does look tempting.

This Opus appeared at GearBest right after I received my LiitoKala lii-100 !

LiitoKala lii-100

It looks interesting, but with a March shipping date it will be some time before I can review it.

Have a look at “Customer Questions & Answers”:

Hi Dmitry K, We are pleased to tell you that we can ship this item before 15 of March.

Even if they ship a few days earlier it will still be nearly 3 months before I can publish a review.

My estimate goes like this: before shipping: 6 weeks, shipping time: 3 weeks, test/review time: 3 weeks.

And this assumes I have no other chargers in queue when I receive it.

I would like to request a review of the Ikea VINNINGE 2 slot USB powered NiMH charger: Produkter - søg efter produkter. Få et komplet overblik her - IKEA

It’s only 2.49 euro / 19 DKK. It’s a slow charger, 0.22A for AA and 0.11A for AAA. According to the manual, it terminates charging using -dV detection per cell. So I wonder how well that works at such a low charge rate.

I will look for it next time I am near an Ikea.

Dear HKJ,

Do you have any plans to review Xtar SV2?

Yes and fairly soon.

I was also donated some Ikea chargers, but I will probably first look at them after SV2

Nitecore F1 is out!

Looks like a nice contender to the Xtar MC1+ with 1A charging, voltage indicator, 1A USB output and high compatibility with solar panels using independent input/output circuity, this means you can simultaneously charge both your device and battery, something most powerbanks can’t do.

But what really sealed the deal for me is the 90% output efficiency… Had to order one from Gearbest.

What about the popular powerbank/charger from Tomo, i wonder about the quality and charging capabilities of those devices.

Also the Klarus K1 is offered at gearbest and i couldnt find a review.

The F1 is on the test bench.

I need to get some of the power banks I already have done first.

I expect to get it soon.

Dear HKJ,

What can you say about this item:

Nothing, but it looks interesting.

Hi HKJ,

Banggood’s brand Astrolux now has a charger, the Astrolux C2. Can you determine if this is a rebrand of another brand charger? Otherwise, can you do a review on it?

It looks very much a LiitoKala: http://www.gearbest.com/chargers/pp_424662.html

I expect to get the LiitoKala in the near future.
