Blitzwolf BW-LT5 lantern

I agree the need for a warmer tint, but this I did not undestand:

Huh? Better have and not need it, than need and not have it, right?

BG just announced my BW-LT5 as shipped, so maybe we’ll know more in a couple of weeks…

u was referring to the USB output charging. (the micro-USB charging input is a good idea as long as the charger circuit is of a good quality & regulation to be safe.) single cell USB “charger sticks” barely give my large Samsung Note-3 a single charge, and woudl render the lantern useless if its cell is dead due to it being drained quickly by charging a modern high powered device.

Sure, but this isn’t made to be a powerbank first in line.

It’s a little extra gadget for emergencys - and you will be very glad about a 70% charge if your smartphone is dead and you need to call help

Pretty cool little lantern.

I was looking into these few days ago. Seams bigger than it needs to be.

If 100 lumens is what you need…

It’s a power bank the gives off light. Low capacity but better than nothing. Changing out the battery would be my first goal, then not breaking it the second. It looks like a handy stocking stuffer but Christmas has already gone.

I just ordered one now.

And yes, the CL25R is the one I really would like to get, but budget is budget… unless I get a good discount for it

Seems to be equal to this

EDIT: Well, looks like we paid more than necessary  http://www.banggood.com/Portable-IP68-Waterproof-LED-Tent-Camping-Night-Light-Outdoor-Travel-Power-Bank-Lantern-Lamp-p-997324.html

Most likely the same, I have seen these tube lanterns sell under many brands… Maybe buying blitz wolf might somewhat ensure that the internal
Battery is really 2600mah…

Pandawill used to sell these for cheap but I don’t know why they are so expensive now.

interesting, i wonder if there are any BLF codes that will work for a discount on that one.

This product is supposedly on promo right now and neither coupon or points can be used, I guess they’re getting rid of the old stock to sell their own brand only.

So, I got mine today.

Nifty design, you can pressurize the O-Rings to make this thing even more waterproof (turning the big 16-cornered thingys on both sides).

Light output isn’t that much, but I see this as an emergency-device, and the tint is very nice.

AND I GOT IT OPEN!
It’s very (VERY) easy to open

Will make some photos for you

So, at first I have to apologise - I had the White-Balance set to manual at first :stuck_out_tongue:

The battery is hold in place with some tape and isn’t directly soldered to the pcb - it uses a plug (plug and jack were glued together, so I had to tip them both off)

2.5Ah instead of 2.6Ah? I want my germoney back!

And that’s how this thing seals up - the big nut presses the conical part onto the O-Ring and therefore press it to the outer tube.

Nice, thank you for these pictures. When did you order yours? Waiting for my 2 units and the tracking code doesn’t work… This is an unprotected cell, right?

The cell is unprotected, yes - but I hope that there is a protection circuit on the pcb :stuck_out_tongue:

I ordered on Jan 29th 2016 - but with Priority Direct Mail, which is around twice as fast as the standard shipping to germany.

edit: It delivers 1.2 Amps for my 38% full phone at 5.07V

Nice, thanks for the pictures. So to open it you just pull both ends apart?

I thought the heatsink would be a half moon shape containing the battery, because my non waterproof model in extended operation at high modes does get pretty hot.

unscrew the big nuts, so that the O-Rings aren’t pressurized, and then just pull and twist a bit (no lubrification on the rings)

I want one

Just discovered that link is gone from GB now…
