BLF Kronos X6/X5 GB - Group Buy now closed.

When you cherry pick just part of what i said, and i read just that, I sort of get why Bugsy gets upset. I don’t mean that I’m upset that you cherry picked some words of mine, I mean I see where Bugsy and others feel like it’s a darned if you do, darned if you don’t situation.

I sincerely hope any of what I said is seen more like an SITREP and not a COMPLAINT.

And, yes, Foy is missed. Others too.

You completely lost me on that one, Dale!

People need to be more grateful, calling out no one in particular. These are by far the best flashlights for the money I have ever purchased. Even with a minor defect or two, these are still a heck of a deal and worth many times the price paid. Nitpicking on thease minor flaws is very discouraging to all the people involved in making this group buy happen.

Dented box corner, small scratches, mismatched serial numbers, why care about any of these pety things. This is one hell of a light for the money.

Oh yeah, I have asked this before but didn seem to receive an answer. Did he give up the hobby or has he passed?

It’s the X6 tube that fits.

Same for me. I had one metal washer in my Al X6. It does seem to make it a little more faint than with the white plastic.

Allrighty then,
I see your point.

Here’s some more fancy words for Y’all, no charge.

I have a Big cat named Jasper and he looks nothing like this color, Who Knew?
Poor Cat.

Now then, back to the subject of Flashlights, When can I expect an Incarnadine BLF X5?
LOL
Now back to our regular slather of venom.

Ahhh, ok, yes - it's a metal one, but only in 1 of 6 lights, but I had no clue - maybe the alum X6 was supposed to have one.

Soooo, can I politely, possibly ask Neal for a plastic replacement? Innocent I could check thru my parts bins first, might have something around to fit or trim to fit.

Most of the stuff you guys discuss in that thread goes a mile over my head. :stuck_out_tongue:

Looks like I’m going to need to find time to learn about it though, because that’s a crapload of LEDs I need to use. Thanks btw.

Oh. It was a long post and I didn’t want to quote the whole thing so I only quoted the beginning. Perhaps “my two cent’s worth after reading the last twenty or so pages” would have been a more appropriate snippet.

Symptom of people being more “on edge” than usual. Like how a light tap usually goes unnoticed but the same tap can hurt if it hits something which is already sore. Common elbow-bumping seems to get bigger responses lately.

Elbow pads (or flameproof pants) and smiles may be of use.

the offcenter bore is a production icon of manker its a feature not a fault

Cone - Your post is/was NOT viewed as a complaint at all.

Jack - I think you are right. LOL

Southland - Well put. Thank you!

Tom - I am pretty sure one of my samples had had a metal washer but I didn't think anything of it because it functioned fine.

Sorry, I mean no offense but this and others like it are the very type of post I find nonproductive.

I have a strong indication you know what you’re talking about, but that you’re also shooting from the hip here. I can back up my claims.

Silicone grease is a poor choice for silicone o-rings
see here

also,

See Under O-Ring Compatibility

also,
look for Silicone

I don’t know what material is used for o-rings, I don’t know if natural rubber is used anywhere, but if it is, a petroleum-based grease is not recommended. If you’d like to use silicone grease on your silicone o-rings, more power to you, but you can expect them to swell and foul your action as well as snap and lose your water seal.

I didn’t mean to come up head to head with you, just figured you were shooting from the hip. If you’d take a few minutes to do some Google Fu, I am confident you will be reminded. Its an easy thing to flip flop. The CPF Comprehensive Lube thread is a unified resource great for the purpose of flashlight thread and o-ring lubrication, but there are plenty of other sources of information backing up my claims regarding compatible lube for the kind of material. Don’t take my word for it, see for yourself. But please lets not just naysay each other, kind of pointless.

Fwiw I think there is probably a difference in application between divers needing to seal out water under great pressures and flashaholics needing to seal out water of no or marginal pressure and dust AND have decent lubrication for threaded action. Often, flashaholics will simply remove the o-ring completely, as their need for water seal is minimal but their desire for smooth action is great. Sounds like for diving appliations what you want is a damn tight seal, and in that application, silicone lube works for the purpose. For flashlight o-rings, you won’t want that kind of seal.

Also, galling is simply metals in contact siezing, and can be, is often caused by galvonic corrosion, which is itself caused by a metal, like Fe or Stainless Steel from one batch, corroding in preferential to another, maybe like Cu, or even Stainless Steel with slightly different amounts of its constituents from another batch, when they are in electrical contact, like in a flashlight tube, in the presence of a conducting solution, say, lube, even if a vanishingly small amount.

After checking the tracking about a thousand times… Yay!

These lights are absolutely incredible, worth every penny and more. My youngest kid thinks the little one is for him, as others have said these lights are kid magnets!

Great job guys, you knocked it out of the park.

P.S. The etching for “KRONOS” looks amazing, I like the font too, how the N dips a little below etc. Great little details to enjoy. Thanks again!

Hi,

Mine arrived today and I got matching serial numbers (both lights and they match the box). I haven’t been keeping up with this thread, but I thought that the tailcap light could be locked out by loosening the tailcap?

Locking out the tail-cap is only possible on the aluminum set.

Ahh. Ok, that makes sense (because of the anodizing, right?).

Correct!

How does nitpicking help? If your not happy with your lights, put them up for sale, sure they will sell quickly with no loss to you. Do you realize how many hours have been invested by the Krono Team, Neil, Banggood, and Manker to make this happen. A very high quality light for an excellent price. Don’t know how long youv’e been into Chinese lights but these things are common, nothing new. If this nitpicking continues, this could very well be the last endeavor of this kind. Nobody likes being thanked for all the hard work in this way. I’m done with this conversation.
