eBay MH20 $22.99 - Discussion thread

I would like all of you to know that I have received a couple of shipments that got lost and were reshipped from manufacturer with prices and lets just say that if you knew what their cost was you would be getting on a plane and flying over there to kick someoneā€™s ass. Based on the markup I calculated on my other orders That MH20 costs around 18 dollars, and Im not talking about the manufacture cost. Im saying thats what they sell if for to their distributors. So all it takes is some guy from china trying to cut out a middle man to make a couple bucks and deals like this really do exist. But as always all the scammers can make it difficult to find these deals when they are happening. Be safe! No pain no gain. Order me one too! lol

They marked my order as shipped. No tracking codeā€¦ This was a bit too fast to be true in my favor

Ive played the Chinese ā€œto good to be trueā€ game at ebay dozens of times for many years. Its probably 1 in 12-15 that come through from Chinese purchases while the rest are scams. But I always get a refund when the product doesnā€™t show up. IMO, if you can afford to float the money for up to 60 days (usually far less), then go ahead and gamble. Paypal protects us. As far as paypals business model is concerned, they simply dont care about the thousands of Chinese scams that show up on their site. A PP supervisor told me that Chinese originating accounts are by far the most notorious for these types of scams, but Ebay makes obscenely massive profits through their customer base to offset the bad transactions. In other words, ebay rewards chinese scam artists, so they will always be present unless ebay changes their policies

While Im sure Im contributing to someones chinese new year beer drinking fund, I bought a few lights to see if they arrive. If notā€¦ oh well! Iā€™ll file my PP dispute and retrieve my money. Of course I already know this is another scam for all the reasons already mentioned. If ebay doesnt care, then either do I.

Paypal has refunded me in full just hours ago.

Dispute Closed: Case # PP-004-567-278-723
April 4, 2016

They might have sent you a small rubber frog or other worthless trinket. Ah well, best of luck to you and the rest of us.

  So PP is already providing refunds for the chinese scam account but has done nothing to stop them from continuing to sell.

I already told Ebay that the listing is back, and at a higher price.

Ordered. Letā€™s see what happens

Wow, they closed the case on April 4, 2016. Howā€™d they do that ā€¦ with a time machine?

Haha, yesā€¦with a time machine, because in my country itā€™s already 18:31 hours of April the 4th, as of this posting.

Too fast to be true, I guess!

Well, looks like the auction is over. Another 50 sold. Probably all of them to members of BLF

Letā€™s see if eBay remove this listing like they did with the first one.

I think the buyer canceled the original listing, not eBay. Otherwise, the buyerā€™s account would have been suspended.

Not sure why the buyer did that, though.

If he made a mistake in pricing the original at $22.99, why bother upping the price to $25.99? Why not, say, $27.99 or 29.99?

Canceling the original listing for $3.00 of incremental profit doesnā€™t make sense to me.

Good thing they ran out because Iā€™m dumb enough to roll the dice, since Paypal would back me up. :stuck_out_tongue:

Havenā€™t heard anything from the seller. The seller has gotten positive feedback as recently as 2/1.

Ditto.

Sent two messages to the seller. One yesterday. One today. No response.

I suppose thereā€™s nothing to do now but wait and see if I missed a great deal or saved myself some frustration.

Thatā€™s my problem. I get frustrated when I miss out on a good deal.

I`ve ordered 4x Mh20 from the seller on Ebay yesterday. Now it`s time to wait what happens.

Robert

Last year this also happened close to CNY.

Convenient, huh.
