The issue here is that the reflector is stuck, so I can not open it to fix it. That is the main issue. If I could get the reflector open, maybe there would be a easy fix for the issue.
A couple people have mentioned that. I wonder if there was more than one batch made, with slightly different processes. Or maybe more than one chunk of copper used as source material. Got a picture? I’ve never actually seen a copper mismatch.
MY mistake thinking it was the SS/Cu set but my position still stands.
Ken, you need to learn more....just fact of it. You look for the tiniest fault in everything and that is not what this place is (at least in my opinion). This place takes great pride in taking nothing and making something. With these group buys we do our best to make that possible for everyone with no effort AND at a cost less than what one could do for the cost of parts alone.
The yellow may or may not go away...I do not know because it IS not uncommon BUT once you mentioned "Contact Neal" all bets are off in my book. If you can make it go away ...great...if not, then just sell them...you are after-all in the flashlight reselling business.
Arrival! 8 total days with that free Priority Direct shipping, can’t beat that. I got them about 1:00. Wanted to go for a bike ride. Didn’t open the package at all, how many could do that? Came home from the ride and opened it, first the S.S. OH MY GOODNESS! Not a mark on it. People weren’t lying when they said these were HEAVY! I got 2 clips with mine, both in the bag. The light/UI works great. Thanks to Dale’s config. video posted earlier it was simple. Haven’t attempted changing the number of modes yet however… I’m giddy over these. Should have bought more sets  Will definitely have to get an aluminum set as well, as these will be shelf Queens. The lit tailcaps are nice but can’t get used to them. Not going back to find a post but this lit tailcap doesn’t draw too much power? No worries? I don’t want to have to keep unscrewing the tailcap to turn it off. And then there is fear of GALLING Whatever.
The copper one is awesome as well. Great lil size. After seeing some pics it would be nice to have an amber or red tail light in this one. The clip came on the copper light. How do I get it off without scratching the body?
These two lights are amazing. Sorry for the others, but mine do not have a mark on them. I did not get the box. I think TK said the S.S. put out 1400 lumens stock. How about the copper one? Did I hear 1300?
I couldn’t be happier with these. I’ll just keep these 2 and get rid of my other 70 lights! Wait, I’m keeping the A6 too. The wait was worth it. No way to show my gratitude. Here’s a couple of pictures:
Thats because I ordered cheap (type Ultrafire and Cree) lights, that’s promised the world, and was just crap. The last 6 months or so, I have only got Convoy S2+ (30 pcs) and Convoy C8 AK47 (10 pcs) lights from Simon, each specially modified (and Gearbest), Eagle Eye X6 XP-L HI (6 pcs) from a producer that made a small batch, then I have been on three Group Buys here, actually 4. BLF A6 (got 7), BLF D80 (got 4), 4 x BLF-348 - Classy and Small 1xAAA Stainless Steel light and now the BLF X6 SS/Cu and Al GB. Also got some JM35, Yezl y3 and a Nitecore MH20 (it was expensive)
I have learned from my mistake, and would say that I only buy premium lights now, since the GBs provides premium lights. If they don’t do that, and people still think I buy crap, why do we have the GBs then?
But still, this time I was unlucky with ONE Al X5 light of all the lights mention over
Uncommon, yes, but not for lacking of trying to get premium lights without the knowledge to build one my self.
Thats little of my point. You use so much time to create the “perfect” light, for a good price. You work for months. Then, when I buy a such light, I have higher exception to that light then to a $2 Ultrafire light on Ebay. I must be the most unlucky person on this planet, for what is the change that I get a slightly “damaged” light from this great GB?
Stop taking it so personal. I love the work you and the rest of the team have done. Love the SS/Cu set, love the taillight, love the UI, you have done a hell of a job. But some Chinese person has not done a good job on this Al X6, no QC. That’s not your or the teams fault, but the producer.
Neal is selling thees lights, and if any, he can fix this issue with my light.
So, no personal to you or the team (despite you are very personal with me).
Thanks for thinking of us organizers, southland. Defending us, fighting for us. Skirmishing with the nay-sayers. The thought is appreciated. Warm fuzzies all around.
However, I kind of agree with Brett… for one simple reason. I knew what I was getting into when I signed up for this.
I feel your pain. That sucks the big one.
I stopped my mail for the week so I could pick it up from the PO. Also just installed a locking mailbox since mail theft is rampant in some areas now.
Ken, try a latex swim cap or non slip mat laid flat on a table. Use that to grip the reflector and twist the head. Try it at different temperatures. Don’t get defensive, just don’t respond to those posts. That’s a large part of your current reputation. Practice on me.
I have a small set of files with the handle end being about 1/8” in diameter. I worked this smooth 1/8” file shank into the metal clip of my X5 then supported the file on both sides over my bench vise with rubber covered jaws while the clip hung loose between the jaws. Then I drove the clip onto the file til it was up against the curve of the bend. When I pulled it back out, the clip was perfectly parallel! My bench vise is plastic, so I wasn’t hitting the clip all that hard with the hammer, the hammer is a ballpeen hammer head but it has no handle on it.
Very pleased with how this worked out.
