[Review] ULTRATAC K18 (XP-G2 S2, 1x AAA / 1x 10440)

Very very good/quality review and very nice light!

Great review. Good info. Nice pic’s.

Thanks for all the hard work you did to create this top-notch review.

I generally do not purchase cool-white flashlights, but I still see a lot to like in this UltraTac model.

I missed this review somehow (maybe the “ultra…” put me off). Just shows you shouldn’t judge a flashlight by the name.

Thanks UPz for this - I understand a stainless steel version is also available, but I can’t find it anywhere.

I believe going gear and he equip both stock these.
I got mine in SS from hk

Does anyone know if this works with unprotected Li-mn 10440’s?

I have a couple that don’t seem to work with it.

Want to give this light a try, now some questions to you guys:

1. is the K18 working with efest 10440 (350 mAh) ? Has anybody tested this combination?

2. has the K18 some kind of overdischarge protection, if battery voltage sinks under 3V? (If not, how can i avoid damaging my battery?)

3. Has anybody found a lower price than 14,95 € ? (found here)

1. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work with flat 10440 efest. Only button top batteries.

I run my K18 with efest 10440 like this, are not flat top??

Hi AAA Maniac,
Aswers:
1: yes (I got Efest 10440 V1)
2: I don’t know
3: no

And I found an additional lockout on mine:
FROM OFF: double click - the light flashes once and stays locked out until you
DOUBLE CLICK again - two flashes and the light is operational

The electronic lock system is only in SS and brass edition because they have not the option of lock out “rotate a quarter turn of the head thread”. Have you a Aluminium version with electronic lock out?

Aaaahhhh - I see…
Mine is brass!

my k18 brass works either EFEST IMR 10440 LI-MN FLAT TOP or other button top 10440 cell

My K18 doesn’t.

I haven’t seen singel one AAA with ODP yet.

hi quetzalcoatl
I´m also not an expert on AAA-flashlights yet, especially with 10440 option (which of course are the only ones, who need ODP). But to name just one, who has this feature, here you go:

Tool VN (lumintop Tool AAA modded by Vinh54 ) with DriverVN2 has integrated voltage protection, as it dimmes the light down, when battery voltage drops to 3,0 V or below…

Great review thanks!

Thanks for the info AAA-Maniac!

So what do you guys do, to prevent battery damage? Cant believe everyone carries a voltage meter on the day

You must use your eyes and have some good feelings for 10440 batts in small AAA.
