1. Comment in this thread, name flashlight(s) you wish to have for 2016 (could be Olight or other brands)
I love my Olight S1 Copper (Rose Gold) flashlight. I use it all the time.
I was also greatly impressed by the powerful Olight models that were demoed at SHOT SHOW this year in the Going Gear video.
2. Why do you wish to have it (them)?
I like the beam produced by the S1. The TIR optic it uses creates a broad hot-spot with very little spill. The spill is so dim, some would say this flashlight is all one big, fat hot-spot. The optic also blends the light nicely. The tint is uniform from center to edge. In flashlights that uses a reflector, many Cree emitters exhibit a green tinge in the corona, and a blue or purple cast in the spill. The S1 has none of that.
I have read that the copper S1 is supposed to use a cool-white emitter, but mine is neutral. Yay!
As for the lumen monsters that were demoed at the SHOT SHOW, well, ... who doesn't like lumens?
1) I would like to have an Olight S1 at last (Gearbest never delivered mine and I went through the obligatory tedious process with their CS to get some of my money back). And to be precise: the raw copper version with SS details, because I do not like the blue on copper.
2) I would like that copper S1 because it is one of the best looking small lights I know, and the performance is great. I hope that a warm high CRI version once will be made, or else I make it myself.
Nice action, thanks.
I have no interest in the brand Olight even though these look spectacular!
So let others have a bigger chance of winning and do not count me in.
an M1X Striker, for defensive purposes since my country currently doesn’t allow any kind of firearm carry for the general public, and the flat bezel light I have doesn’t entirely lend itself to that purpose; plus the M1X is a perfectly functional EDC with some features I really like (like the instant moonlight shortcut).
an S2 Baton, because utility-wise nothing beats a good TIR beam, and having that in a 1x18650 format is king. It’d be my pick for a carry light when I can’t/don’t want to use a light with a tailcap switch.
a Convoy C8 with a warm white LED. I lack a good thrower, and the C8’s on the best price range, plus BLF swears on Convoy’s quality. And I like incandescent-tinted lighting, something no other manufacturer I know offers as an optional (it’s always neutral white at best).
