The cell is very good up to 20A, but at 30A I terminate the test due to temperature. The tracking between the cells shows that they are very well matched.
Temperature raise at 15A load, to get the real cell temperature add (about) 25°C to the temperature.
I had to stop here, my rig melts at this temperature (I hope to improve this).
This is also the maximum discharge temperature for the battery.
Conclusion
The battery has very good performance, 20A is no problem, at 30A it is probably best not to use continious discharge.
HKJ: have you tested the 30Q or a rewrapped version of it? this one seems to be based on the HG2, would be nice to compare these two.
I still don’t understand why efest rate their cell so high. If it’s really pushed to 60A I highly doubt it will stay within safe temperatures inside a vaping mod.
Not yet, I want to test them on my updated test stations, but for my initial tests on them I uses the Efest because they gave me 4 of each cell. This makes it possible to redo the test with a lower temperature limit and a fresh cell when my battery holder melts (Until now I have melted 3 holders).
Is it possible that your new setup improves ultimate capacity via a “cleaner” charge? It seems your new tests have less noise in the current trace during the CV portion of charging…
