Mountain Electronics ***Ask for a Stock check first***

Agreed. If it were indicative of any sort of trend, bring it up here. As a one-time issue, take it up with Richard.

Holy Cow, RMM IS NOT PERFECT!

Thanks for your breaking news.

Not very understanding.

Your post says far more about you.

We should all know that computers and their software systems are not perfect. There are many reasons a warehouse / store stock level is inaccurate; been down that road myself more than I can remember, when I worked in wholesale / retail. But most of the time there are no problems.

I mean maybe he should have asked, but if he isn’t charging you shipping twice, i don’t really see the issue here. He takes the hit because of his mistake, not you.

Not too bad on the dog piling, some interesting responses though I must say. A few people even reading something into this that is not there. My only purpose in posting this was to have people do a stock check. Nothing else. And that IS something to post in a forum.

Only if it happens with any frequency would there be any need to ask him to double check the stock.

Have you had this happen other times?

RMM does seem to have a big problem, he’s so good that people get spoiled and freak out about the rare issue. Seriously, with other sellers this kind of issue is the least of their problems.

I think that people are expecting too much from mail-order.

I am betting that many are too young to remember but it used to be that you looked in a book and sent in a card with all of the ordering info and the check. 4 to 6 weeks later the items would arrive, usually. Sometimes it took longer. Then there were stores where you went and ordered and paid and again waited for the item to arrive at the store and go pick it up.

Sears, JCPenney, Brand Names to name a few.

There were all orders placed and shipped in the USA. Forget ordering overseas…that took months

Richard and Company are good people. I can bet without a doubt that even with the glitch these items are still considerably cheaper than elsewhere in the US so I would just wait.

If it happens once it will happen again, as stated by BORO, RMM is not perfect. Honestly I thought he was which is why I was so shocked. :stuck_out_tongue:

I totally disagree, if it is something that could affect another consumer, we should know about it. Gives them an opportunity to not get “lazy”. :stuck_out_tongue: Which I know they are far from.

While I’m waiting for RMM to respond to my request that he goes and recounts his stock, someone else will swoop in and buy it. :weary:
Slight problem with what you suggest.

When you were notified about the shortage did you contact RMM and ask if you could cancel your order?

Is there a thread for Mountain Electronics feedback? If every other person who orders there has issues, I don’t want to see a separate post, but there should be some way for us to be able to judge if this is a one off or a regular thing.

That is a possibility. I would be inclined to try anyway because his stock numbers are probably 99.9% or higher correct.
No one is infallible, sorry. Best check to avoid the disappointment.

I’m going to take this opportunity to thank RMM for his excellent customer service on my 22 orders since 3-2-15. I’ve spent a grand total of $1,114.68 and have never had an issue with anything that had to be discussed in the forum. He’s always shipped everything out in a timely manner and I’ve never had to return anything because everything has worked. Thank you Richard for everything you do in order to keep thus hobby alive for me and others like me.

Well since you had to ask, no, not ever with Mountain Electronics. I think I’ll agree with you about the freaking out part and him being so good to his customers. He’s the best, no doubt about it.

Me too!! Almost flawless for me too!

I’m pretty sure sellers don’t have the resources ( and would tell people to bugger off ) to physically look in a stock room for every single order.
Can you imagine how ballistic phones and emails would get, if everyone who orders online contacts a seller before buying online ?
Mistakes happen, but this really is not one.
Frustrating ? Yes. You want to use your light.
Get-over-able ? 100%.

is this thread even serious?

’Twas my initial thought. But I believe so, judging by how preturbed the OP seems to be over it.

Alright, I'm cleaning up the mess here. To those who are arguing: please stop.
