Amazon Deal Alerts & Discussion Thread

Hammer and part of a clothes pin can knock of the LED shelf:

Driver is mix of SMD's and thru-hole components:

Bottom is threaded on. Too bad I started with the hammer.

Just having fun. Doesn't thread on. Would need JB weld or foil or something.

Bought one last week off Amazon for $2.59 delivered. Box marked 95 CRI Warm White. It has a neutral tint. Wife loves it as do I. We have a 30’ X18’ living room with vaulted ceiling and the neutral tint is very pleasing to the eye. It’s mounted vertically in a torchier style 6’ floor lamp which throws the light straight up. Cool as heck.

Then couple days later another one appears in the mail. WTH? Turns out they sent me one for FREE or made a mistake. Anyways, opened it up and box marked Pure White & 85CRI. Tint appears same to me. Anyways the free one must have been one of the earlier models I read about because immediately when screwing it in the threaded base kept turning in the receptacle. No matter, works perfect. May put some loctite on it later.

Turns out we have 2 torchier style 6’ floor lamps, one on each side of the room, and the lighting now is very even and neutral across the entire room since we run both lamps with the new bulbs. Just looks so much “nicer” than the very warm incandescents we were used to.

Thanks Thorfire for the Freeby. Guess they just wanna get them out of the warehouse.

LOL. I came home to another package of bulbs. So now I have 8 bulbs. Checked Amazon, but I only was billed for the 4 ordered. 6 of the boxes are marked 80CRI like the one I tore down above, 1 is not marked, and 1 is marked 90CRI. All are marked “Pure White”, except the 90CRI light. That light, has a pretty nice tint. Anyone know anything about the emitters in these (see Post 64 above)?

darn, I should have bought more than one!!! :stuck_out_tongue: The light output without the diffuser is, i’m guessing 800 ish lumens. It’s approximately the same brightness as a Convoy C8 shone on the ceiling. My intention with the one I ordered is to put a true, warm white, bridglux or Cree 1512 LED in place of the NW stock LED. Another option is to buy some warm white LG LEDs from fasttech and somehow squeeze 4 or 5 of those (seriesf) onto the bulb. lol. I’m just thinking now.

Thorfire TG-10 on Amazon for $12 off with code EJ23SMAD.

Thorfire TG-10

I haven’t bought this particular boost driver as yet but, the 6009xl drives an 1512 LED ok with a 2S pack and good with a 3S LiIon pack (added heatsink hardly warms up driving the LED at 1A,) . The little driver below should easily fit in the body of this bulb  http://www.banggood.com/2A-DC-DC-Boost-Step-Up-Conversion-Module-MicroUSB-2-24V-To-5V-28V-12V-9V-24V-p-1019102.html

This is a great deal on one of Ganzo’s more recent models.
The next closest price I could find was gearbest for $17.01
Mine just arrived yesterday (G735-YB Yellow & Black), and best of all, it arrived in 2 days!
I’m used to waiting for the slow boat from China, but this is stocked somewhere in the USA.

Flash deal, act quick.

RAVPower 26800mAh powerbank $35

https://www.amazon.com/Portable-RAVPower-Technology-Smartphones-More-Black/dp/B012NIQG5E

Actually $32.99 with code 26800RAV

bummer that it doesn’t come w/ cable to jump start a vehicle, doesn’t look like it has the
correct connector for one neither.

For a powerbank to start a vehicle the battery must be high drain LiPo in 4S, the ravpower one uses 18650s in 1S configuration.

Superway 10,400mAh lantern / powerbank combo

Got one last week and it is great, measured 32Wh output at 5V 2A which means the 10,400mAh rating is REAL. About 400 lumens output and extreme runtimes in medium and low. Well built although glued all around so no modding possible. CW tint 5,700K with nice spread, about the side of a meteor.

I have a quick review coming soon when the runtime tests are done but I’m going to give you my word for $22 this is a steal, you won’t regret it.

Wowser, that's some serious run time. Looking forward to your review. How do you get it for $22?

delete.

At the time of my post there was a flash deal going on and it was $22.40, right now the price has gone back up but you can find the exact same lantern under other brands for about $28, or pay $36 for this superway one and get a smaller 4,000mah version free.

Runtime was Over 20 hours on high and 70hours on medium, not fully flat but a steady drop to about 50% power then LVP kicks in. Review should be up this weekend.
