[07-MAR-2016] Current status of BLF upgrade process

Yeah I was pretty excited when IE11 came out as well. Now I can download Chrome and Firefox 20% faster on a new install!

Truthfully, I have not tried IE in a LONG time. MS let it stagnate for quite a while and Firefox and Chrome were far superior. A buddy of mine works for MS and keeps telling me that it is competitive now, but I just canā€™t bring myself to try it. Shared bookmarks between my Chromebook, phone and desktop are pushing me more and more towards Chrome. I have not had any problems with lost posts in Firefox, and I too have a tendency to research and switch tabs a lot while writing things up.

Getting some strange blue screens

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ā€˜@ā€™ in /srv/www/drupal7/sites/all/modules/rules/modules/php.eval.inc(146) : eval()ā€™d code on line 1

Sorry about that, my fault.

Cool, thanks for your efforts on the upgrade.

left a pm about some apparently transient errors noticed just now

How did you get 260k free hours?

testing if my name shows up as ā€˜edited byā€™ under the original post (until someone else adds a new last edit)

what is it your testing?

The email notification system. Donā€™t get your hopes up yet, though, itā€™ll be a while.

I have a request, if itā€™s possible. After passing the first page of search results, if you read a thread and hit the back button, it takes you back to the 1st page of search results, no matter what page of results your on. I think you just made an adjustment to a similar situation in recent posts.

Thanks

I had this problem as well but havenā€™t since sb fixed the issue. Maybe clearing the browser cache will help?

Thereā€™s always the option of opening in a new tab, if you donā€™t want the state of the first tab disturbed.

I probably never would have noticed the issue you described, since Iā€™ve long been in the habit of using new tabs instead of expecting ā€˜backā€™ to produce the same state as a page was in before. The web hasnā€™t had reliable ā€˜backā€™ behavior since functional javascript got popular and produced ā€œWeb 2.0ā€.

Hi Administrator.

Welcome to BLF.

Nice name, by the way. But your messages are a little terse

I would like to complain about a user named sb56637, he acts like he owns the place

Here is sb performing a test
What he does would make most of us stressed
But he works with a smile
In good cheer all the while
Making BudgetLightForum the best

We all wonder , just when does he rest ?
Every problem is quickly addressed
Making changes each day
Nothing gets in his way
He is simply a man on a quest

We are having fun at his behest
All who visit here are soon impressed
It becomes very clear
That as soon as youā€™re here
Youā€™ll be treated like a special guest

Haaaa!

I see the whole bunches of ā€œtestsā€ were getting the notifications working! i just got a brand new shiny notification.

Indeed, it IS good news

Btw, they started 38 minutes ago.

SB, Thank you Very Much,
George
