Fake NITECORE Chargers [2016]

Awww… you don’t need no pic’s to mock, you’re doin’ jes fine!

Please look at the icons (Right) that I have indicated again. Negative contact plates of an authentic charger do attract magnet. I have confirmed it with D4, D2, i4 and i2 so far.

Thank you. I see 3 points-of-contact. Only the positive is not magnetic on mine. Both negative points are magnetic.

What result did you get from the validation codes? I have not heard of any fake um series yet.

No code testing. Magnet is enough for me at this point. I’m having to spend more time with this than I really should be considering other life’s immediate needs. No disrespect meant and I appreciate your help. For some reason everything seems to hit at once when we are already too busy, so further checking doesn’t seem to be immediately required but I see your point. I can check a couple codes asap and post. Thanks again.

Well my legit died after a few times used. Screen did not display info so could not trust it.

Please buy my Olight intimidator, for just $20. You’ll receive an Ultrafire zoomie with “Olight Intimidator” written on it with a silver sharpie and a cough 5600mAh Ultrafire cell installed (on that I will write Olight as well no worries ;))
You must like that a lot! Getting what you pay for :stuck_out_tongue:

I will avoid Nitecore since I found their own specs to be untrue on a genuine one.
Reading they do not show interest in these matters when it comes to fakes makes this decision seem more legit.

I’m starting to think like you are Miller, Nitecores validation site is not accessible for some reason. Either I have a virus or it is not available for some reason.

Maybe someone else can give it a try.

So what do you reckon my D4 is freeme, real or fake ?
My positive contacts do not attract a magnet but negative contacts & slider rails do ?
It passed the authentication code test & upon opening up the charger the components are labelled Nitecore ?
I can”t see it being anything but real due to passing the authentication code & having internal components labelled Nitecore but if that is the case how come my negative contacts & slider rails attract a magnet when Nitecore state that genuine chargers do not ?

G'Day BLF'ers,

As posted by me in Marcl's misleadingly labelled thread "Banggood selling fake Nitecore charger? confirmed by Nitecore's website, if it's working" :

I have a few Nitecore D4 chargers sourced from Nitecore themselves, some of which fail their own tests for verifying if genuine or not.

When I spoke to my Nitecore contact about this, he said that they still had old stock of chargers & parts to clear/use up.

So many chargers would fail Or partially fail their new "promulgated" verification tests.

Best Regards,

George

I can’t speak for anyone else, but if I’m buying a knock-off, I want to know that it’s a knock-off. Give it a humorous name (Nortcore, Nitecar, Won Hung Lo, etc.) and shove it off the back of a truck in Shenzen market for all I care, just don’t lie to me about it being authentic.

I couldn’t agree more.

+1 Yeah, that’s pretty much how I feel, too. We buy clones of clones of clones around here already. It’s just that the clones have their own name. A “fake” is not the same as a clone. It is a deception right from the start. I suppose most of us have heard the saying “no honor among thieves” at some time. That’s what I think about. Copying someone’s good idea is expected. Stealing their name is dirty.

This makes me laugh. Nitecore obviously have a problem with people copying their products. But sometime ago they or Niteye were blatantly copying the spy007 light. They didn’t seem to have a problem then.

What goes around . . .

FWIW
I recently bought their DigiCharger D-4. The validation code checks and says it is an authentic Nitecore product and it is correct in every way except that the power cord recipticle is square and not clipped in the two top corners as indicated in one of the early posts.

Bob

Probably an old batch.

This is how the latest one looks like.

Is it true that only the negative spring side will be magnetic in ALL real Nitecore’s chargers or only the D4?

It is true for D4, D2, i4, i2. I have also tested on UM20 and UM10. My memory is faint for UM series, but I am 90% sure that they gave the same results too.

Possibly. I am glad that everything else checked out. Thanks for the heads up and all that you do for the forums.

Bob

I recently ordered the UM10 and can confirm that the negative contact is magnetic whereas the positive contact is not (the verification code is also valid).
